crunching more numbers. Case 1 for Boomo which was the "free" case. ( I still think he just put the price of the case to the rest of the people in the other cases).
Let me know if you think the numbers are inaccurate. These are based off of recent eBay listings. Of course the memorabilia who knows if or when it will go out. Box 1 PSA 10 2011 Topps Update Mike Trout $36 to $100 = $68 average Nolan Ryan 16 x 20 Signed Photo I’ll say $85 benefit of the doubt 2008 Upper Deck X Evan Longoria BGS 10 $8 for a similar product 1959 Fleer Ted Williams Card 56 PSA 8 15 to 25 on ebay So $186 on Box 1 Box 2 1967 Topps Roberto Clemente PSA 8 $200 Ultimate Collection Joe DiMaggio, Derek Jeter, Reggie Jackson blah blah 6 pc. Jersey Similar 6 way sold for $65 “Heroic Ticket”= worthless 2010 Allen and Ginter Buster Posey BGS 10 .99 cent Raw, $18 last one sold as Gem 10 So $283 Box 3 Mickey Mantle signed 8 x 10 JSA $150 Babe Ruth Legends of the Game letter patch /10 Out of /50 sells for $10 “Heroic Ticket” = worthless 2005 Leather and Lumber Ted Williams Bat card $20 So $200 maybe. So in 3 boxes if we go off of the 2k a case price Boomo was selling it for you would get back $683, or a 64% loss. Last edited by hitman1116; 01-05-2013 at 06:51 PM. Reason: Edited to update prices |

Both the autographed Mantle and Ryan JSA photos will go for a little more than that. Nicely matted and framed and you would have a nice product that could bring double/triple of the price you're stating.
Having said that and reading most of the thread- CRAP- you've got to be kidding me!!!! Some People...

This is a very disturbing product.
Is there a checklist? A sell sheet? Do we know what the better hits are? There website says nothing about the product itself, simply about the points competition. There is no "fine print" when it comes to the the legalities of the promotion. Who's to say that phantom individuals wont have the most points on a weekly basis and guarantee that no one really wins the prizes. There is also little to no effort in this product. Buy cards, send to Beckett (who appears to be a partner, or at the very least a strong supporter) and insert into boxes. Although its possible that the Beckett sales department agreed to promote/discuss the product in exchange for a large buy of ad space Also, in my opinion, this company is too new to have so many redemptions and run such a high end promotion with the point prizes.

Those comments on the Beckett box break are ridonkolous! They say the same thing over and over (good product, exciting to not know what's inside) and sound like they are written by the same person. Everything about this product screams STAY AWAY!

dude your pricing is worthless. A raw posey goes for 1.00 so a bgs 10 goes for the same. Longo bccg=bgs 10. Come on with this already. At least give a fair value. I agree the product sucks but quote some accurate pricing

In order to get a different perspective on this product, I wrote to the support email on the Heroes website and got this reply to my message:

Question #3 essentially the goal is to take everyone for a ride until May 2013 until these Grand Finale Prizes take place in which those who win are I am sure are predetermined "ghosts."
After said Prizes another "well thought out" plan for another "well put together" product is thrown out on the market, filled with more said "very valuable" eBay product, for another cash grab for the second part of 2013 that will amount to nothing for the buyers but disappointment. Rinse and repeat.

Ah didn't know that.
Longo 9.5 BGS go from $2.21 to $32 (for a Topps Chrome Refractor).. PSA 10 Longoria goes for $10 2008 Upper Deck x Evan Longoria 94 RC PSA 10 Gem Mint Tampa Bay Rays Rookie | eBay Can we agree on that pricing with the PSA? |

a BGS 10 is Pristine, which carries a decent premium above a BGS 9.5 or PSA 10. Just trying to be fair.

And while I feel like this isn't a terrible loss considering you could easily do this 5 times a week with any number of products from Panini and Topps and Upper Deck, the whole premise that this product is going to truly give you the value you paid for it makes me want to puke. I don't think the big card companies advertise that, but this one it is pretty much their mission statement. |

I just don't understand why anyone would get a 2012 Topps Chrome Ichiro graded...

That's true, still I could care less about owning a BGS 10 of a non-auto/non-relic/non serial #d base card (unless it were like a popular rookie or prospect) Just seems like a punch in the face to pull that.

Would an Ichiro base card really sell for more than it cost to get it graded if it turned out to be a BGS 10? I mean I understand they carry a premium but for a card like that it couldn't be too much

So this is how Live Case Break will be breaking this product, which is totally fair. It's actually better than fair and you will most likely get something.
The format for the break will be done as a 6 spot team draft with 1 box of Heroes of the Game and 1 box of 2012 Bowman Sterling Baseball for $149.99 per spot. The reasons we selected Bowman Sterling Baseball are many, but some of them are that the product has 18 hits, so the likelihood of someone getting skunked is very low and it gives representation to some teams that may not be as well represented in the Game of Heroes product. Now, I am sure some of you are saying "what team will memorabilia redemptions go to?" If there is a team visible or noted on the piece of memorabilia, it will be awarded to that team (photo, hat, jersey, etc). If there is no team noted or visible on the memorabilia, and the player was active during the 2012 season, it will go to the team that the player ended the 2012 season with. If the player is retired, it will go to the team that the player played the most number of games with during their career. Franchises that have been moved or discontinued will be traced to their modern day franchise. As an example, the Nolan Ryan photo where he was giving a good ol spanking to Robin Ventura would be awarded to the Rangers, as it is a Nolan Ryan 8x10 photo. There would not be a random between the Rangers and White Sox. Plus, if the memorabilia redemption isn't filled for whatever reason. LCB will refund you your purchase in the break and keep whatever bowman sterling cards you pulled if you so choose. So basically it'll be like you didn't even purchase a spot in the break. If you ask me, this is probably one of the best ways this product can be broken. And any golden tickets pulled will be randomed amongst the 6 entrants. |
