Default Insurance? American Collectors insurance

Does anyone have any opinions on American Collectors insurance? Or any type of collectors insurance?

Thanks

talk to your agent first about just getting a special rider for your collection.

I would like to hear of actual stories where someone can vouch that they were paid fairly on a claim. My concern with companies insuring baseball cards is do they actually pay up, and if so, what type of payment is given.

i have an additional rider covering up to X dollars on my standard homeowners insurance for my hobby items. the insurance company only needs appraisals (and individual policies) if any single item is valued over $5,000. fortunately, no items in my collection are that valuable.

i know someone who had several rare vintage BMX bikes stolen. the insurance company (i think it was safeco) used eBay completed listing, forum posts, and his PayPal receipts as proof of value. he did have one item that was purchased in cash at a show and was so rare/unique that no comps were available. i believe he was SOL on that one.
