I don't know what you guys may know about rural Virginia, but these hills are hills of bargains. Ever since the days of horse and buggy I suppose, men of my region were bartering tobacco like there was no tomorrow. One of the few modern day examples of the past-time known as bartering is exemplified in the buildings that scatter our mountaintops, known as flea markets. DO NOT let the name deter you, fortunes are made and lost in these cathedrals to antiquities every weekend.
Last Saturday, I had stopped in at my local flea market for the first time in a long while, searching for odds and ends that I could use as gifts for my father's upcoming birthday. I stumbled upon a booth that was lined with the cardboard rarities that bring us unity on these forums. As I walked in, the price tags absolutely blew me away. 4-5x book value on cards that looked like that had lost a battle to a weedeater. The older gentleman that was running this stall did not seemed disappointed at all that his stock was not moving, though, as I'm sure some of his childhood was hid away in the boxes. Posted on a sign at the front was a sign clearly stating "NOT BUYING SPORTS CARDS", which soon proved to my advantage. A younger man soon entered, pleading with the man to atleast take a look at some cards he had just inherited. The old man declined again and again, as the guy's price just continually dropped to a price that seemed reasonable for the three closed boxes he was offering, no matter the contents. The old man really seemed irritated as he raised his voice and asked the guy to leave. I left then, and caught this guy on his way out. We struck up a conversation, and I ended up buying the boxes after I had discovered what they held. Inside of these three boxes were strictly Topps cards, ranging from 1959-1981, primarily in the early 70's. most of these cards were gem mint, and after

At the old guy's shop, the guy that was trying to sell these boxes apparently had never dealt with anything like sports cards.

I'll start putting these up in a minute. The lot had About 20-40 1960's cards in mentionable condition, and the majority is 72-85 Topps.
