I don't know why, but the hall of fame for baseball does not like to get first ballot guys in except for the great ones.

Baseball hof is all about longevity and stats

More than any sport

Biggio did it with years played
Doubles
Hits

It is a shame he did not get in on first ballot

It's a joke actually

Lost the little respect I had for the process

why is everyone complaining about biggio. he will make it but just not this year. his stats are great but not first ballot great. 1st ballot players are legendary players not great players. name one thing that biggio did that was legendary. when you look back in 30 years biggio will be a forgotten HOFer just like lou brock and jim palmer.
Unlike willie mays, ted williams, hanks aaron, nolan ryan and george brett these players are legendary and 1st ballot HOFers.
Biggio is a HOFer but not 1st ballot

Maddux and Chipper Jones are examples of future first ballot hall of famers

maddux for sure.. chipper could be debatable... was eddie mathews first ballot? I think only Mike Schmidt and George Brett were first ballot 3rd basemen.. but I could be wrong.

I think the fact Chipper Jones was a switch hitter will get him in as a first ballot. Compare his numbers to every switch hitter in major league history and he is possibly the second or third best ever right behind Mickey Mantle

Exactly, Eddie Murray, Mickey Mantle and Chipper Jones are the three best switch hitters in the history of baseball

If Chipper gets first ballot i think it will be because of his relationship with his fans. I mean who doesnt like Chipper Jones?

No offense to anyone..

There is a lot of players i don't know enough about but i still talk about them like i do

It always shocks me that people dont think chipper jones will be first ballot..

With his 450 plus hrs
2500 plus hits
1500 walks
1500 runs scored
500 doubles
life time avg of over 300
and obp of over 400 which is insane

I believe there are around 14 maybe 15 guys in a 100 years of baseball with those stats

As much love as there is for chipper he is very under rated..

i would not be shocked to see him get over 80% his first ballot

top 3-4 3rd baseman ever

switch hitter thing helps..

Same team, mvp , world series, gold gloves, batting tittle

im a homer but no question first ballot..

not even close

Piazza, Biggio, Morris and Walker should have got in. Shame that the first 2 didn't get in. Biggio with 3K and Piazza one of the best offensive catchers of all time!
