I have done the same thing. One of my friends is going to sell everything and my wife and kids are going to get the money. Hope he keeps the ones he wants first. lol

It's a hobby, so who cares, but collecting pictures of grown men is sort of weird.

It's a hobby. I embrace the fact that I could be considered a "nerd," especially since me and my cousins/brothers also collect Comics.

I mean, watch Comic Book Men and see how much money you could make by investing in such a simple hobby. Also, it's what I find extremely fun. I love it.

Tell them the value of your collection and see how a 12 years can collect that.

I am 45 years old--and a woman--and have been collecting off and on for 35 years. I started with my dad as a little kid.

I can't imagine having to hide it from anyone. My boyfriend thinks it's weird but in the end it's cheaper than purses and shoes.

One day at the office my coworkers were discussing their past weekend and asked me what I did. I told them exactly

"I stayed up pretty late on Saturday organizing baseball cards."

They all started laughing thinking I was joking but little did they know I was really putting together Bowman player lots. I just laughed it off and never mentioned my hobby again.

Is this a concern in high school/college or something?

Well either way they're both special....he did the same thing to the other user. Left three negative feedbacks.

I'm 25, read comic books, play Magic, and collect baseball cards...while earning my degree in Aerospace Engineering studying vehicles that travel at Mach 5+. I don't care who knows I collect

Whenever I talk about it at school the other kids give me a swirly and call me mean names. And I've also never told anyone until now that I have the 2006 Bowman Draft Longoria Superfractor Auto

Honestly it is pretty embarrassing. My best friend is literally the only person who knows because he also collects. My parents have no idea.

How many know about supporting the ice cold shooting team with a pathetic, classless fanbase in attendance that was crushed by the U?

Someone who is that ashamed of it shouldn't even be collecting. You're in the wrong hobby then.

I don't typically let people know I collect for fear of being robbed or seeming boastful. But I find it pretty entertaining to occasionally mention the concept of modern day technology of sports cards and how there are jersey pieces and autographs. Seeing sports fans reactions are priceless. They can't believe something so cool exists. I wish more people would look into it and start up collecting though.

Not trying to discourage you at all. Just saying, it shouldn't be that hard to sit down with your parents and tell them you collect cards.

Im a sophomore in high school. My principal found out I collect well he used to collect so he brought me a few of his old cards. Only thing he requested from me was to enjoy them and if I ever found a Johnny Unitus rookie he wants it.
