Default Best 2013 Baseball Sets? Just got back into the hobby

I'm looking to get back into baseball cards. I took a look at Topps Series 1 and liked it primarily for the Giants World Series and Mays' cards. Would this be a good first choice to delve in? I'm looking to buy a Jumbo case or two, PC the Giant cards and sell most of the rest.

Kind of hard for anyone to say considering no one has opened the product.

Sorry, mostly looking for speculation, I was going through the sell sheets here and liked the Series 1 the best.

Nothing to be sorry for- you're just gonna get a bunch of takes on which cards look the coolest.

If you look at sell sheets from past years(BO has them for most product listings), sometimes the cards don't look exactly like the mock-ups anyway.

Topps Series 1 looks great, and I like a lot of the possible pulls. The problem is that the checklist isn't as strong as last years, and it won't be with most products this year I believe.

I'll be buying Topps Series like I do every year. It is a very very low risk product, usually when I rip a case I at least break even and get to keep some cards for my PC

more important than the product is how do you intend to sell the non PC cards?....... because it will differ depending on the product you open.

Cool thanks for the info guys.

Another question, 2008 Bowman Chrome, it's $425 for the case and looking for a Posey rookie. Should I get?

I don't believe Posey even has a base card in 2008 Bowman Chrome. The price is so low because it has a pretty crappy checklist. Only decent names on the autograph checklist are Austin Jackson and Jordan Zimmerman. I'd stay away from it

You're better off just buying a single...you'll end up with a lot of extra garbage you don't want

It might be difficult pulling a Posey out of Bowman Chrome

more important than knowing how to sell..... is knowing the content of the product and who is in the product.

Posey is in '08 Draft as a prospect auto not a RC.

Guys, fellow baseball noob here, if you buy a hobby box of Series 1, is the hit more than likely going to be a jersey like in football? How many numbered parallels will you hit per box roughly?

Yes, it will most likely be a jersey card...in past years I usually pull 1-2 autos/9-10 relics/1 manufactured relic in a hobby case.

As for numbered parallels, the gold parallels are generally 1:4 packs so 9 per box. Generally every other box will have a black parallel or another #d parallel but that is just based on past years.

Personally, I am most excited for Series 1, Bowman Jumbo, and Allen & Ginter (probably because its slated to release on my birthday haha) I'm excited for this years products, lots of good additions to most of them so far.

yeah 2008 bowman chrome does not have posey. I pulled a jackson auto out of 3 boxes. Not good return but fun break.

I would buy jumbo boxes and allen & Ginter. Its going to be another good one.

I've just got back in to buying baseball in the last month or so, I loved the looks of the Gypsy Queen this year and like the looks of the 2013...might not be the high end stuff most like but I love them

Topps Heritage would be my choice....the 1964 design is a nice one....much nicer than Topps Series One this year, IMHO.....
