Whats wrong with that? Throw up a high BIN and take some offers on it. Yeah he won't get close to 1,700 but why not hope for a super collector or someone who price doesn't matter to?

lol he isnt trying to sell it for 1700. Just because that is the starting price on a Buy It Now doesnt mean he expects to get that. That's why you see that button right below it that says 'Make Offer'.....

Perfect example of why to make a new topic you should have over 500 posts.

My guess is that the OP doesn't actually realize how well Nimmo stuff has sold in the past. If the slab said 9.5 I actually think 1700 is in the ballpark. A 9 maybe not so, but that will still bring nice coin.

This is the new trend, put a card up on a BIN for much more than it's worth and fish for offers. Nothing wrong with what he did, he doesn't expect to get that much money for it.

99 % of sellers do that and then complain of other people doing it. I see it a lot when bat knob cards are pulled.

You have over 500 posts and wouldn't condone you posting new topics.

There is nothing inherently wrong with posting most threads, he stated an opinion that was shot down by everyone as misguided. The point of a forum is discussion, negative/positive whatever it may be. This forum is not exclusive to those who have been in the hobby long or have opinions that conform with long time posters.

At times those who have been here a while get a little(alot) high and mighty with their comments for whatever reason, it doesn't change anything nor should it. It just makes some posters look a little conceited, but then again one shouldn't take comments so seriously, it's a sports card forum who the hell cares if some criticism comes one's way just roll with it.

Except the OP didn't ask anyone if Nimmo is a big prospect or ask if anyone had an idea as to why the card was listed for so much. He just instantly went to bashing the listing.

Yes seems crazy how they jump on people about what they think is a dumb or useless topic but at the same time they post in the thread just to keep it at the top of the page! COOL GUYS

I'm not saying the OP's opinion isn't wrong, but the poster I responded too was asking whether there was anything wrong with posting this thread, I'm assuming in response to the posters who were messing around with the new members shouldnt be able to post new topics thing.

There is nothing inherently wrong with posting this thread. Just because his opinion in our eyes is misguided doesn't make the posting of this thread wrong. Once again this is a forum for open discussion, not discussion of only what one believes is right.

At least he has the best offer option on there. I cant tell you how many times I've seen a card I'm looking for of a prospect or a mid level star that the seller just puts a bin price that is way too high and relists it 35 times with the same price because he cant sell it. Why waste your time?
