Default Hitting the Superfactor? Thoughts?

Just a quick thought. So we all go after the chase to pull a Superfractor from the Bowman/Chrome/Draft products of different young prospects. Manny who are fortunate to do so will either keep it, trade it, or put in on Ebay or sell to another collector.

With social media today, such as Twitter, it is fairly easy to reach prospects that us collectors actually pull. Therefore, anyone ever try to sell their Superfractor Auto to that particular player? I figure most of these guys at some point were interested in the hobby and would want to have a couple nice cards of themselves for whatever reason. Superfractor being the nicest, I am sure many of these guys would make an offer on it. Not saying they would pay any higher or lower, just thought that they might like to have a chance to own it.

Any thoughts???

I would be shocked if Bryce Harper gave a $hit about his pooperfractor.

If the superfractors end up being worth a lot because the player becomes a star, the player will have enough cash to buy it later. If their superfractors end up being junk, it will be cheap and the guy will be able to buy it later.

The last thing they want to worry about as a guy in the minors is buying cards. Besides, the one person an autograph is worth the least to is the guy who signs it.

The way he signs most of his cards your probably right lol.

Yeah valid point. Depending on the success of the career they could always afford to buy it if they wanted to.

-Some collect now, some are members on these and other forums, and some don't care.

I am not a fan nor a participant in social media, but twitting some guy to try selling them something seems a bit off to me. Not sure why, really, but i would consider that rude. Just like unsolicited sales pitches in general would be through these forums, at dinner, knock on the door or call to the house, etc.

If they want to buy it, they can find it themselves without you trying to do some direct marketing they didn't ask for.

Yeah I see what your saying. I was thinking on the lines if you are going to sell it regardless maybe let them just be the first to have a chance to make an offer. Maybe it would hold sentimental value to them or just be a reminder to keep working hard I'm almost at my goal kind of thing.

You'll never forget your first time...

As for tweeting, I don't do it but if I did I wouldn't send a tweet to the player asking if they would like to buy their card.

My first and only time pulling a superfractor was a 2006 Bowman Chrome Clayton Kershaw autograph! I was so excited!

i signed up for twitter after i got it back from grading (9.5/10) and tweeted Topps and Dante Bichette Jr. if he remembered signing his super auto.

he responded and said "haha yea of course! Glad you're happy with it"

topps retweeted "beautiful card, hopefully many more to come"

but i never inquired about him wanting to purchase it from me.

They would say that about a 1/1 superfractor, wouldn't they.
