I think my nephew would like to meet Mauer. How early do I have to be there? How does the wrist band work? Thanks for your reply.

Looks like you need to show up an hour an a half early, get a wristband, then go back outside and freeze your butt off, just to have a CHANCE at meeting Mauer. I don't think I can do that to my nephew! Lol not in MN weather!

dude! go sit in your warm car! If your wrist band gets chosen you will get to go through his line. No need to stand out in the cold at all.

You actually have to stand outside, wait for them to open the doors for the wristbands, and then once you get your color, you have to leave the building. And the best way to ensure you'll see the wristband color and if you are chosen, get towards the front of the line, would be to stand back outside. I did it last year. My sister got Mauer, I got Morneau, and my old man got both!

Trust me I did this last year and there is no need to wait. I waited outside in line for a wrist band only for everyone in line to get through the line in a matter of a half hour or so. I was always near the front of the wrist band line and by the time I got through and back outside the lines were basically gone. Meaning people can wait until the lines go down and then go through the wrist band line.

From the experience last year there is no need to hudddle like cattle at the end of their lines when the color is drawn neither. They moved through the lines quickly that by the time there was an hour left in the signing there was no more people in line for the autograph because they didn't hand out enough winning color wrist bands. Now of course this could change if they decide to hand out a ton more wrist bands this year.

Its pretty easy to get both I know. I got Mauer twice all 3 days.

I don't know, guys. The thought of waiting outside in the MN cold to get a wristband, then back outside and wait to enter the building, even for a half an hour, seems way to arduous a task for a an uncle taking his 12 yr old nephew. Plus, even if I was to get lucky with the wristbands, it's almost $50 bucks ($25 fee plus $20 ball) just for a IP auto of Mauer. Eh. Way too cold to be outside for longer than 5 mins.

Understandable. Have fun if you do go though!

$25 isn't even bad. And you could go grab an 8x10 of Mauer for a couple bucks if you wanted. Last year Mauer and Morneau were both $35 fees, but I got them on the same ball. The prices don't really both me at all because it goes towards charity, but they are down from last year (except Blyleven, Carew, and Molitor). If I get fortunate enough to get Mauer this year, I am going to either have him sign one of the min-helmets I picked up for $10, or get an 8x10 of him signed. I think that a gold sharpie would look slick on the mini-helmet. Gold on blue, sounds sexy to me!

Yeah, $25 isn't bad. It's more about standing outside in the Minnesota cold weather. Call me a bad uncle, but I think I may just buy my nephew a Topps FiveStar Mauer auto for $30, rather then pay $50 and wait outside in the cold!

By the way, my friend was the Ballboy for the Timberwolves the last ten years. If anyone is interested in a game-used jersey of Garnett or a game-used basketball of Kevin Love , let me know!

Just to fore warn ya, Arcia is not in attendance. Something apparently happened that he will not be here for the weekend.
