One of the many predecessors to Topps Attax...
![]() Released in 2006 by Konami, this game attempted to turn baseball cards into a Yu-Gi-Oh like strategy game that would appeal to a Japanese audience. It didn't work. But it did leave behind a bunch of unique oddballs for collectors. ![]() Like Topps Attax, this is a two player card game that has it's own special playing field which can be found in the stater kits. And like Yu-Gi-Oh there are three different types of cards. Player cards (which would be the monster cards in Yu-Gi-Oh), "success" cards (which would be the trap cards in YGO) and action cards (which I guess would be the magic cards in YGO). Player cards ![]() ![]() ![]() The backs ![]() Close up ![]() Some of the success (blue) and action (red) cards ![]() These cards were sold in 2 forms. Starter kits ![]() These came with: *12 Player Cards *15 Success Cards *15 Action Cards *1 Rulebook *1 Playing Field *10 Pebbles (for lack of a better word) to help you keep track of score, innings, outs, strikes and walks. Booster packs ![]() These came with: *6 Player Cards The booster packs were available individually at card stores (and possibly convenience stores) as loose packs and as hobby boxes which had 15 boosters each. This set also had two parallel sets. One was a foil parallel that would be considered a refractor in chrome products. The other was another foil parallel that would be considered an x-fractor in chrome products. ![]() The Vlad represents the "refractor" parallel, the Manny represents the "x-fractor" parallel. And for those of you wondering where the "Powerful" came from... If you notice on the backs of the cards there's cute little cartoon character on there. That character is from a popular baseball themed video game franchise developed by Konami called "Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū." And it's commonly known as Power-Pro (or "parapuro" as the Japanese pronounce it). Well that's one of the many failed MLB-themed gaming card sets and one of the more obscure Japanese MLB sets out there. Hope some of you have enjoyed this trip into the world of Japanese MLB stuff.

Thanks for the info ! I know a lot of the US folks & player collectors wouldn't have a clue about some of this stuff was or even existed.
If you part with the Tim Hudson or the Torii Hunter, plmk.

Thanks for reading .[/QUOTE]Yeah i have power pros 08 on wii. I havent played in forever but its a gret game! These cards are awesome, im going to look up a pack on the bay, and if i can find one cheap enough, shipping from japan is probably pricey and it might take awhile. |

.Yeah these things are kinda hard to find in the states. Heck they're even hard to find here in Japan. I think I once came across a site selling these though, I'm not sure if they're trustworthy or still online but I did see one.
