Hello Gentleman,

I am actually a girl....

The card is still for sale if anyone is interested, I live in Atlanta. You will all be furious to know, this was the first hobby box I ever bought.

I have called Topps almost daily and will bug them until the card is finished. They have the auto, but claim it is still in production. Anyone have any advice on speeding up the process?

I have also been speaking to Beckett about grading the card. Card grade must be high to give the card additional value. Any opinions?

Thanks everyone!

I do have a picture of the back of the card, if you would like to see it. I posted it on ebay as well.

Welcome to the site. Amazing card, congrats on the pull of a lifetime.

For what it's worth, the member that inquired about the card has been banned. (You can see this underneath his username.)

Best of luck selling!

Thank you! I didn't notice that they were banned. I appreciate you telling me. I have been waiting weeks for the site to approve my account so I could post replies.

Love the card and the experience, but selling is so stressful!

This should not be stressful for you. You spent $100 at the most on a box of cards and you pulled a monster. You can't lose!

You might want to get in touch with someone that can help you sell the card, that way you can get top dollar for it. I know lots of people on BO don't like them but, Beckett may be your best bet. Chris Olds is on Twitter - @chrisolds2009

People have just been rude about me not accepting their crappy offers. I paid $99 for two boxes, gave one to my best friend. I didn't make him pay for his box since he got the unlucky one.

There are just a lot of choices. Redeem or not? Grade or not? Where to sell? How much is it actually worth? Etc.

Thanks. I have been in contact with Mike Simmons from Beckett, very nice and helpful. I am trying to sell to a collector rather than dealer who will turn around a resell for more. I don't want to be ripped off.

If your honeslty looking to sell it - talk with Beckett. They do have a grading and auction subsection part of their business. The card would graded then sold off by their auctioning department and that will more than likely net you more money in the long run then you trying to do it yourself since what they will charge for fees is likely the increase the card will get and possibly more.

Firstly, great hit! When I was a kid telling my dad about how much all my cards "booked" for, he would tell me, "They're only worth what someone is willing to give you."

As for grading, I wouldn't. Since I assume this will be a 1/1 card it really won't help the value at all. I personally would sell the redemption and not redeem it. Either way, just like hitting the jackpot at a slot machine, you will now be addicted to cards (if you weren't already).

If you truly have an offer higher than $8K, then if I were you I would go into your best offer settings and set your "automatically decline offers lower than ____" amount to a very high number.

The two good offers I have are outside of ebay. The only reason I have the card up there is for exposure and to allow people to communicate with me.

I took the picture to a show two weekends ago (actual card is in a safety deposit box) and I got several good connections.

Wow... Ziegler sounds less like a professional baseball player and more like that annoying dude who puts your cards down before telling you he'll "do you a favor" by giving you $200 for a $1500 card.

Kinda sad now.

D-Back Reliever vs. Card Seller

For something like this, and considering that it sounds like you don't have experience selling baseball cards, you're probably better off going through an auction house or a dealer. Yes, you might get less than top dollar but that's not realling getting "ripped off." Getting ripped off is having someone pull an eBay scam or something and you losing the card and the money. Don't risk the latter to avoid the former.

If this were a $500 card, sure, squeeze what you can out of it by dealing direct. But this isn't a $500 card.

I'm just wondering why you ran to deadspin with this? Is it really anybodys business but you and the buyer?

Hogs get fed, pigs get slaughtered. If you don't care to hang onto the card, take your current highest offer and be happy. No one is ripping you off if they offer you more than $5k-$6k on this. $12k seems to be a rather optomistic expectation.

If she's not in need of the $ let her shoot for her price, it's not like the value will decline. It would seem it would actually go up once the card is in hand.

I actually did not go to Deadspin. Someone in my group helping me sell the card did.

If I didn't have two great offers on the table, I would agree with you. But its ridiculous to sell a card for $4500 when I can get double somewhere else. I was certainly not BSing him when I said I had two offers higher than $8k.

I am also considering getting the card graded once I see the auto. If its a great auto, 9.5 or 10, then the value would be higher. Like I told him, I am doing my research.
