Default Why COMC??

they seem expensive and once you send in your cards you are stuck.. you can not list anywhere else on your own..

why is COMC a good deal for sellers?

Unless you have no job, no family and just love scanning, listing and mailing 50 cent and $2 cards, then COMC is a gift from God! I get $8-$20 EVERYDAY for cards that used to sit in boxes in my basement. I then take that money and buy cards I actually want and skip the 20% fees at the end.

So a good way to look at the site is to use it for "trading"?

Absolutely because you don't have to deal with all the BS of traditional trading. Even if you just do it for cash, it is still an amazing service. I have sold about 800 cards so far for about $3,000. It took me all of an hour to send them in. So even if I gave them 20%, I am still at $2400 for cards that were barely worth listing on EBay, and definitely not worth my rare free time. Again, unless you have no life, nobody has time to sell All these low end cards.

The sellers can list at any price they want, but you can always give a BO. I've only paid asking price for cards <$2. It's a great site, and I hope it takes down ebay after they institute the new sales tax and income tax rules. This would be on top of ebay/PP fees too.

Curious...what percent of book do average condition cards get? I have a lot of 80's and 90's rookies I would like to send there...but I don't want to have to manage the sales price from card to card.

Yes....here's my formula:

If it's higher than $10....I'd consider selling via ebay, otherwise...

Any numbered card
Any auto and/or relic card
Any insert/parallel of top 50 players
Any base of top 10 guys (Even if there's 20 on the site....usually 19 of them are priced too high I've sold half of my base cards already. Even though I sold them for $.60-$.75 that's a $.45 profit that'd I'd NEVER ever get.

I'm new to this but I sent in 240 ish cards about a month ago and I've sold 15% of my inventory so far. Don't know if that's good or bad but I've made $200 from doing virtually nothing.

So the process is send in all these cards in top loaders or in storage bins?

Then they scan and send you a list in which you price the cards?

Then they ship and keep 20% of the sale?

The storage fee is what has always kept me from sending in, guess it's not that big of a deal?

Don't send cards in top loaders, they charge 5 cents to take them out.
Storage fee is 1 cent after 3 months.
Sending cards next week, not really sure about pricing your cards.Guess it has to be done from your acct.
maybe someone can shed some light on that subject.

Well, I would just send them in Penny Sleeves. For me it's great for all the reason's already mentioned. 20% is high but with all the returns and false PP claims on ebay it's way worth it to me--as for the storage fee all you really have to do is sell 3-4 cards a month and not worry about it

I'm guessing setting your price is similar to when you buy a card then want to flip it later.

You go into your " My Inventory " tab and set the prices there once they have them loaded into the system. Which if you're sending in a whole lot of cards could take a long time setting prices card by card.

Is there a "bulk edit" option when setting prices? If i sent cards in, most of them would be $3 obo or something like that. Going 1 by 1 would be annoying.

Is there a way to search COMC for "sold" prices? I have some cards I'm thinking about sending in and I'm curoius what they may have sold for on there prevoiusly. I didn't see any options when I was messing around on the site.

No and that's by design. You can't see sales history. I'm glad because half of my sold cards are far and above ebay prices.

You can see in your Dashboard what you bought a card for and what you sold it for but not anybody elses.

If you're thinking about sending in I'd do it sooner rather than later. They've been known for trading cards but they are getting into Coins, Magazines, Comics, and Sport Mem. soon as well.

Usually when a company expands that much there are costs that get passed a long to the consumer and you can bet that prices will be going up sometime in the near future.

Also just noticed their URL for the main page of their new site now says " Check Out My Collectibles " instead of " Check Out My Cards " like the old site did.

The only cards I see in green on the site are cards that are part of a Promotional Sale. You can see what your cards sold for, but not anyone else's.

All of those changes have already happened. The name change was why they went to COMC. All of the costs have already been passed on as well. There was a big fuss over it a few months back. I think they know that they are at their max with fees for the time being. If they raise them anymore it will be very bad for their business.

How is their customer service? If they list a card wrong, how long does it usually take to correct it?

Not long at all. And they're very rarely wrong. (I've submitted about 2500 cards and can think of only one or two that they've gotten wrong.)

And their customer service is great.
