Default Biggest Card Selling or Trading Mistake/Regret?????

So I was wondering what some of you would classify as your biggest regret when it comes to trading or selling your cards.

Mine would have to be trading my Mike Trout 2011 Bowman Chrome Gold Ref /50 for a 2005 Topps Robinson Cano Auto. When trout was hot, the card was eclipsing 400 bucks.

Another one was when I first got into the card collecting hobby and I pulled a Anthony Ranaudo Elite Auto Emerald Status /25 and a member on here screwed me over and made me believe that 40 was a good price for it as there were no recent sales for the emerald

Let me know what some of you guys regret selling or trading

My Magic the Gathering collection that I sold in middle school for $500 (incredible $ to a 14 year old) would be worth about $50k today. Can't believe people still play that crap.

I also opened a pack of Stadium Club in 1991 I think. At a card show. I pulled the Brien Taylor with the Opening Day or whatever the foil stamp was. Dealer offered me $100 cash. I was 10 but even I knew that meant 100x book and this card was worth $300 easy...

Trout 2010 Bowman Platinum ref auto. Sold for under $100 on COMC. Plus I took the 20% Amazon hit on top of that.

That's really it. The money doesn't sting that bad, I've missed out on a lot more selling options early, but I really liked the look of the card. I think if I had it in hand rather than at COMC, I would have held on to it.

I have so many it would take too long to list them. A few off the top of my head:
Trading about 15 1989 UD Ken Griffey Jr. RC's to the card shop for about 30 packs of 1990 UD Hockey French edition(they were $16 a pack at the time).

Selling my entire 2005 Ryan Braun collection including about 50 Topps & Chrome Updates, several Topps Chrome Refractors and a Red Refractor. I think I got about $100 for all of it before he blew up.

Not really a trade or sale, but I bought about 20 packs of 1986 Fleer basketball at TG&Y for 25 cents a pack and left about 4 or 5 boxes on the shelf so I could buy Christmas presents. The one Jordan I pulled was glued to the inside of a shoebox as part of a school project and thrown away(I was 12 and had no idea).

Ouch, that does hurt but you would be amazed how vivid my memory of those $9boxes of 1986 Fleer Basketball stacked up next to the register is even 26+ years later. And I bet you had a blast playing Ten Yard Fight for hours on end.

Nothing big, but recent. Sold a Darin Ruf Lot from 2010 Bowman Chrome. 6 Xfractor's, 2 Purple's /899 and 6 base. Got $15 for it. 45 days later, they would of got $100+

Sold my zunino red for $1k, which at the time was not bad, but wish I would of held onto it realizing how good he is as of late. Also regret selling a refractor auto , base auto , and gold auto of Addison Russell for a little under $400 (think it was $390) combined...

My Mike Stanton stash but I can't regret it fully because the sales paid some bills and put food in the house.Because at the time my wife was out of work for about a year with the baby and things where tuff.

Just glad the family recovered .

Sold my RG3 prismatic finest auto /10 for $800 3 days before the first game of the year. 2 weeks later he resold it for 1800. I was just in the mindframe that i wanted to ditch it and get what i could in case he came out flat... Live amd learn!

When 2007 sweet spot classics came out, set collectors were going crazy for the patch cards (If I remember correctly, wossamatu was really bidding everything up). I decided to splurge on a tin and ended up pulling the second most short printed card in the set- a Juan Marichal patch /15. I posted my break to beckett forum and got a bunch of interest. Unfortunately, whenever I pull a nice hit, I tend to get overly attach and refuse to sell it. Such was the case for this card.

Eventually one popped up on eBay and it sold for nearly $400 I held on to that puppy for two years too long and ended up selling for a shade over $50

I bought a box of misc. cards at a card show and found a 1996 Collector's Choice Gold Signature Cal Ripken (there were two variations, this was the SSP). Got an offer the next day for $30 (3x what I paid for the box) and I took it. A couple days later a Ripken Super Collector messaged me and offered $85.

Not the biggest regret moneywise but I was still pretty mad.

I'm in the middle of mine. Selling off my entire Griffey collection. Luckily I'm still keeping a few gems.

I owned 2 Jose Fernandez BGS 9.5 Orange autos and sold them for $300 each. I still tear up lol

Back in December 2011 when Jose Fernandez was still a nobody (isn't he still? ) I sold a refractor auto redemption for $5. Whoops.

To be fair, in 6 boxes of 2011 Bowman Draft, I pulled a Harper green auto and a red ref auto of some USA kid that I sold to Wossa for $125. I definitely made my money back, just not as much as I could have.
