Here are some cards I'd probably die if I hit:

Auto Blue Sapphire Best Bowman Players of All Time
Hank Aaron
Matt Holliday
Josh Hamilton
Bryce Harper
Al Kaline

Just go back a few years and look at a Top 100 list and count up how many guys' chrome autos have much value at the present time, especially the guys ranked 40 and lower (which is where most of the prospect autos in this product fall).

BaseballAmerica.com: Prospects: Rankings: Top 100 Prospects: 2007 Top 100 Prospects

I'll take a product with a smaller auto checklist and a solid shot of pulling a top guy over this product all week and twice on Sunday.
That is exactly why I like it. If you have a small checklist, you see the odds of those players making it. The bigger the checklist the bigger the chance of a few making it big. All it takes is 1 or 2. All I know is that I have been busting Bowman for years, and as far as pre-release, none of the others have looked like this. You can always look back at busts or breakouts, but as of this point, I don't think there is any question at all that this one ranks #1. And this is coming from someone who is usually VERY critical of Topps.

Also, kudos to Topps for getting the checklist out so early -- over a week before the original release date!

Looks like Puig will have a chrome mini and a top 100 card.

See, I view it as the better the checklist, the better the odds of a few making it big. The bigger the checklist, the lower the odds of pulling the ones who make it big. I'm a quality versus quantity guy when it comes to Bowman. I'll take a few other Bowman releases, led by 2011 BDPP, over 2013 Bowman.

Even pre-release? 2011 BDPP has had time to season a bit. That is why it is so popular. Again, I am stating as of right now. We don't have the ability to compare apples to apples. We would have to fast-forward time.

Only if the checklists are the same size. Statistically speaking, you have a whole lot better chance of someone making it big in the larger checklist.

There are 7 additional auto sets. I really hope that they are additional hits and don't take the place of a hit. That could be a massive print run if they took the place of the hits.

They have always been extras in the past.

Anyone have any idea as to what the Black Ice auto is? I don't remember seeing that one on the sell sheet...

Yes, even pre-release. 2011 BDPP was loaded pre-release with Bundy, Bubba, Bauer, Lindor, Bradley, Baez, etc. all being big time top prospects. A couple of the guys who are currently huge pulls (Jose Fernandez and Austin Meadows USA) were relative nobodies when the product released and current Top 100 guys like Kyle Crick, Trevor Story, and Robert Stephenson were in the same boat. So with 2011 BDPP, you had a product with a strong checklist at the top at the time of release and, despite a much smaller auto checklist, more quality top to bottom both then and now. It really isn't a close call which was a better product between 2011 BDPP and 2013 Bowman IMO.

Kinda bummed that the lone Dodger prospect auto Matt Magill is not a regular prospect on card auto but is part of the retail prospect sticker auto checklist.

Lets just agree that they are both great. I think this is a great argument to have. At least we aren't complaining about it being one of the worst releases ever. Keep it up Topps! I did great with Heritage, and now this one is looking great. Hopefully a sign of whats ahead in 2013.

Sorta surprised that some of the autograph only guys from 2012 BDPP didn't get base/chrome cards here. I had assumed that 2013 Bowman prospects would be better with cards for:

Albert Almora
Addison Russell
Courtney Hawkins
Corey Seager
Max Fried

Any reason why these fell a little bit on eBay? Bought a couple boxes when they were listed at $67 lowest, seem to be at $64 and heading a little down now? Minor fall at release followed by a slight rise?

I noticed that too. I'm assuming it's ebayers trying to unload most of their inventory by the deadline. Doubt it will go much lower since release is right around the corner.

Yep, you'll see a small spike on release. The big spike will be in Jumbos, always is.
