Default Better Future value Bryce Harper auto: '10 B.Chrome Buyback or '11 B.Chrome Blue Refr

20 years from now, which B.Harper card would be more valuable

1) BGS 9/Auto9 = 2010 Bowman Chrome Buyback Auto /100
or
2) BGS 9.5 Gem Mint/Auto10 = 2011 Bowman Chrome Blue Refractor Auto /150

help settle a debate between two Nationals fans...

they are both great cards but those buybacks are EXTREMELY Difficult to find. I had one in hand once and submitted it for grading and it actually got a 7/9 so whoever has the 9/9 has a killer and the better card in my opinion.

keep in mind this is value 10+ years from now, not what its currently selling at...pretty fun debate to see where both cards end up

and do you think his team USA uniform vs his Nationals uniform makes any difference if you were the buyer

Thank you for your sound opinions

What if by some chance Harper falls completely off the radar between now and 2023 or 2033?

then the Nats won't make the playoffs and we both jump off the bandwagon

j/k...debate still stands even if both cards lose 90% of their value

just counting this forums opinions since y'all assess value pretty well

I say the 2011 Blue. I think there is a good chance the 2011 BC Harper becomes an iconic card down the line. The buy back auto is an oddball and its a USA card. It is rare but when people think Harper, they're gonna want a Nationals uni. They're gonna want the 2011 BC, so the color refractor versions will be very sought after.

I think DSizzle31 would be right if the 2010 weren't also Bowman and Chrome. Since it also has a smaller print run and is notoriously hard to find in gem condition, I would say the 2010. Although I may be biased since I got $1200 for the one I pulled from a redemption pack

Your assuming Harper plays his entire career for the nationals. If he goes to another team then I think the USA auto would be worth more.

Since the buyback auto is so hard to see to begin with I would think that in 20 years the BGS 9.5 Gem Mint/Auto10 = 2011 Bowman Chrome Blue Refractor Auto /150 would be worth more from a collectability perspective as it displays better. In 20 years the prospecting portion of the value that is currently driving up the price of the buyback will be long gone so what it comes down to is what will the collector want in his collection.

2011 MLB Uni will be the "Card" for him. Even if he does end up sucking which is besides the point. The Buyback is a great card, as is his Aflac. But the true Auto Prospect card will be the 2011.

Give me the buyback. Earlier, fewer of them, not team specific, and more notoriety.

Give me the buyback. The 2011 Chrome Auto is going to be iconic but as a Harper fan and collector I would want the buyback.

fake buybacks are going to hurt the buyback longterm, along with the usa uni - see stras stuff for that.

2011 bowman chrome will be the card to get

I'm kind of leaning to the 2011 Bowman Chrome but both are very nice cards. It is a hard decision.
