Default Why aren't Matt Moore's cards pulling a Matt Harvey???

I would love opinions on why Matt Moores cards are NOT starting to spike, considering his numbers look much like Matt Harvey's, whos cards are going crazy??? Thanks...

I don't know. Matt Moore will probably be the better pitcher in the long run as well.

Probably has everything to do with fan base. Look at David Price.

Could be that Moore has 5X as many autos as Harvey does.

Prob bc matt moore had his spike and then he didn't perform...plus Moore was/is in 3 dif years of bowman and Harvey was in 2010 only.

nobody buys rays cards. everybody was buying up ra dickey when he was the star of the mets and now harvey is the new top pitcher and mets fans are buying them up. new york has a bigger fan base too.

I don't buy the "He plays for Tampa" narrative.

If you do something impressive, no matter what team you play for your cards spike (see Ubaldo Jimenez).

Moore's stuff spiked once already in 2011, what he's doing right now isn't going to grab peoples attention like what he did at the end of 2011.

Moore stuff will go up some. I think he'll establish himself as a top 10 starter in all of MLB this year. But the jump will be hindered by playing in Florida

Combination of quantity, fanbase/team loyalty, previous spikes. If a guy spikes in the local fanbase, and the generic fans have already bought into him, it takes an even better/longer performance to see that next spike

Wait til he gets traded to New York or California, then you will see a spike...

Matt Moore and Evan Longoria both signed long-term contracts that were grossly under 'fair market' because of their desire to stay in Tampa(St Pete).

This has had an adverse affect on their card values but allows both to play at least 81 games a year in their preferred environment. Much can be attributed to Rays ownership and Joe Maddon. Will be interested to see if David Price does the same.

david price will garnish to much interest and in turn to high of a price tag to stay with the rays. Expect the angels, rangers and yankees to make a hard push at him.

Lots of factors to consider, and I think most of them have been covered.

I also think his prices will slowly creep up as the season progresses. His prices definitely have come up though (a little) I was buying 2011 base autos for $20 and now they're $30, I was buying refractors for $30 and now they're $50. I also bought about 20 2012 Bowman Chrome blacks for $5-$8 and those are up.

It's not a huge explosion but I think they'll slowly rise. He's pitching well.

If he had this ridiculously amazing start to the season, his stuff would spike, it wouldn't matter the team he plays for.

Here is why Moore auto prices do not = Harvey prices:

Go to ebay. Search for Bowman Matt Moore auto. You will get around 115 cards. Moore has autos in 2011 Bowman - chrome and sterling and 2012 Bowman - regular, platinum, and sterling. He has a crap ton.

Now, search for Bowman Matt Harvey auto. You will get around 45 listings. Harvey only has autos in 2010 Draft.

Also, Harvey is getting all the press right now.
