Default The Mets OWN The Yanks

What a beautiful thing to watch if you're a Mets fan.

It's only 1 game and look at the Yankees line-up. Nix, Overbay, Brignac, Stewart

It's the third straight game and that lineup has been beating a lot of teams better than the Mets.

The Mets own the Yankees #6 starter not the Yankees. Kuroda was lights out last night until Rivera blew the save. Those things happen.

The stat that counts is Yankees 1 game out in the A.L. East and the Mets are 10 games out of the N.L. East.

Yankees are where they are without their top 4 guys so far. Granderson was back only a couple games before getting hurt again. The Mets have David Wright healthy and Matt Harvey who is arguably the best pitcher in the NL maybe the game right now and they are still where they are.

Not sure what you are arguing about. Us mets fans aren't bragging saying were the best. The thread was simply made because so far the mets have had the Yankees number. Just because we have 2 good players doesn't mean squat. We also have Hefner, gee and marcum as our starters. We have no bullpen and we are paying millions to two players who don't even suit up for us. Wait until next year

The Mets OWN The Yanks is the name of the thread, not " The Yankees have the better record", or "The Yankees have injuries", It is simply an observation that the Mets have indeed owned the Yankees.

Gee and Marcum haven't been the pitchers they were last year, but Marcum showed some signs of life his last outing, hopefully he's getting situated after his first handful of starts basically being Spring Training for him. Parnell has been pretty solid as a closer, no? I'd probably prefer the Mets' rotation to the Indians', ugh, besides Masterson, it's UGLY. Edit: I guess I like what McAllister has been bringing to the table so far as well.

And a $228,106,125 payroll.

I don't really see everyone saying how many great players the Yankees are missing will make such a big difference. I think Tex and Arod have a negative impact, which jeter somewhat neutralizes, so overall the team is playing without granderson, a solid player. They're a good team, and everyone saying they're starting a bunch of schmoes right now doesn't know them very well.

As disheartening as it is, the Yankees just might be turning into the team that almost everyone was expecting.

But whatever, I'll let the Mets and their fans celebrate. To me they're still the little brother with 25 less rings .
Wait, the Mets actually have 2 WS rings right? ...

Look at the Mets lineup. Tejada, Davis, Ankiel, Baxter.

Hefner isn't exactly the league Cy Young, either.

Either way, these last three days have been pure bliss.

I don't get what this had to do with anything...

I could be wrong, but I think that Vernon Wells's salary counts towards that number even though I thought the Yankees weren't paying most of it. Those 4 guys on the DL, plus Pettite and Youk count for over 110 mil towards that number so the injuries are pretty significant.

lol TOOL. Yankees have been playing for over 60 years more than the Mets.

Edit - The Yanks still have more than the Mets since 1962 but only 6 more. They won 19 BEFORE the Mets started playing.
