You might want to rephrase that because if that's how you really are then that's pretty pathetic. So you are saying that you basically lie to people outside your circle all the time then huh ?

They have nothing to do with sport cards in general, nothing to do with print runs in the card market, nothing to do with collectors' mentalities in the card market, nothing to do with anything in this post. The only thing you are saying is because you don't know the final outcome, everything must have an equal probability of happening. Not knowing the FINAL outcome 100% does NOT equate to a complete and total lack of predictability. Yes, the card could have ended at $5 if somebody retracted a bid and nobody else bid on it, and it could have ended at $3,500 if a bidding war erupted. Possible? YES Probable? VERY, VERY UNLIKELY You of all people know and are plugged into the SportKings market and pay attention to ALL RARE cards (as you noted you bid on all of them). You know who bids on them and what the RARE cards go for ... very slight risk at best. I'd be more interested in how the more common cards like Nolan Ryan sell now as compared to years ago, and how Evil Knievel, Q. Jackson, Barry Sanders, etc. sell. Still relatively low print runs (autos & memorabilia), but what are those doing over time? And as far as the 4 copies ... you only acknowledged that after somebody else did if I remember correctly, and you know (as well as everybody else on the board) that the serious bidders/SK collectors knew the print run. Also, while minor, you never mentioned that you had won the auction until somebody else pointed it out. I am more convinced in my opinion regarding that auction being a terrible example to use and one "most likely" to help support your point -- even though you didn't TRULY know the outcome. I really was hoping you would have a better response than unrelated algebra and over/under betting examples. Matt, I respect your passion for this product and do believe you are not trying to up the price to increase the value of your own collection. However, it is very obvious that you are trying to promote the product, whether for some benefit directly from SK or just because your "SK passion" has taken over your brain. Regardless, I believe (IMHO) that your efforts may be having the opposite effect. You respond to EVERY SINGLE post now, and in my opinion really aren't answering or defending your position well in many instances ... while others are valuable information and succinctly written. While I know I'll read this post as it continues to move along, I really am done posting to it. So talk about my wife, my 3 boys, my career, my IQ, or anything about me, I won't bother defending. It's been a treat, but ... I AM O-U-T !!! |

So i'm reading through some threads, and i can't help but notice every single item you post has to turn into SK. I could be talking about seeing why my dog's $hit is green, and it could turn into your damn SK and your collection, and how much you spend on things. I must say there's no doubt you have a vast collection, and you definately put out there that you have a lot to be thankful for, and have the best of everything in the world with your riches. Then, I come across this: Stucco texture. What do you like? You actually have the nerve to call this guy out to "perceive" like he has more than he does or whatever you go on saying. Because heaven forbid someone has something nicer than you, or would dare try to perceive it this way. You talk about him bragging but yet fail to look in the mirror. I can't stand it, i can't stand arrogance, and i HATE HATE HATE that every pull (good or bad) is compared to your wonderful Dr Price and his 4th grade unlicensed, 1933 looking cards. yes they are great; yes they have unbelieveable resale (even though the original opener sure gets raped), and yes they are nice. Because the back says game used from the right shoulder of the jersey, you believe it. I guess time will tell if anything fraudulent ever comes out of this company. For years, UD didn't have the reputation they do now. I sure hope to god; for your sake that Dr Price isn't as scumbaggy as many are. Although if it does happen, i have a feeling you'll be running from this board faster than a bat out of hell, and your lips will finally be tighter than a bullfrog's butthole. Peace Out Forever More on SK.

you can also kiss my rear-end right after you are done with Wheeler and Price as far as I'm concerned. I'll try my best not to purposely crap on your face.

Sorry I have no interest in that, but I respect your choice. I think you don't have the ethic needed to be a Dr., you can leave the school now you're losing your time.

I obviously had an idea that the card could sell well. It was still risky though. Surely you don't deny that. And let's not forget the fact that had I not bid at all, it would have still sold for more than the last one sold for, therefore illustrating an increase in value, which was the point to the whole example.

I'm not a Dr Dumbass. I'm an MBA with a CPA. Maybe you should stick to your main language and learn to clean up your posts. They are hard to read, and are even more disturbing when you are in the process of insulting someone's education level.

![]() I'm guessing you will have many more posts in this thread. You can't be done. I can though as I don't post in this thread unless it's in response to others. And if something bad happens in regards to SK, I will stick around and face the criticism like a man. That is how I operate. I never run with my tail tucked between my legs. I never have, and I never will. I'm not always right, and I don't win every battle, but I'm definitely not a poor sport. I take the bad with the good...the losses with the wins. It's a part of life.

And you having the guts to do that with the posts you make is beyond anyone's comprehension. They are choppy, sloppy, and almost unreadable. Are you a taxi driver by chance, or do you work for one of those calling centers?
