Default Anyone breaking Series 2?

Looks pretty lackluster with a weak checklist. I know there's a following for regular Topps but this looks very boring.

I'll end up picking up a blaster or two even though I don't want to.

4 Jumbo cases. It's still base Topps, and sells pretty well and easily for how cheap it is.

I agree. Although I wish they would have included a better giveaway contest this year. The golden giveaway codes were selling consistently throughout the season.

Doing 5 Jumbo. Is the final checklist out? Haven't seen it anywhere.

So online code cards don't add much value?

Made some good money on wrappers and codes with series 1, not sure how it will turn out the second time around.

I'd say about $20 a case for the 60 codes you'll get in a case.

Given how weak series one was, with a better checklist, and more general enthusiasm behind it, I think Series two will be a rough break without the luck of hitting something big. A wrapper redemption of some kind would help, but so far no announcement.

Take away the spring fever and silver slate wrapper redemption (the value of the pair is gone for series 2 unless something changes), and series one was the least profitable base Topps baseball break in years. Even WITH those promotions it was still probably the weakest series one in years. And thats with the million dollar codes going for upwards of $0.50-0.75 each consistently. Most lots are lucky to get $0.25-$0.35 each now. That coupled with series two sets and master sets ALWAYS being the weakest of the 3 releases... well, I'm not saying its not still as safe as anything out there, but outside of getting lucky with a big hit, I'd say the work isn't going to justify the profits (or lack there of).

I just hope Update makes up for it. At least that should have a pretty solid crop of rookies. But without the promotions, codes bringing less and less each release, and pre-sells on sets/masters going lower and lower, basic topps baseball is becoming less and less safe with each release.

One Jumbo case - as usual. Had a great Ernie Banks patch hit from 2012 Ser.2 - no huge expectations but usually can get bulk of money back (after factoring in a master set for the family collection) with sales. Contemplating a shift to breaking exclusively Bowman in baseball, however....

My Series 1 retail break (15 blasters) was more profitable than my hobby break (I think 3-4 jumbo boxes). Wondering if S2 will have the same manufactured patch cards like in S1. Doubt they will sell for as much as S1 even if they do.

Just checked out the checklist and I was originally planning to buy a rack pack but now I'm not sure if I'll even buy a pack now since almost none of the players I hoped to see were listed.
In turn however that got me hyped up and excited for '13 Update and '14 Series 1.

If Toys R Us gets the blister packs with the purple parallels, I'll buy those out because they sell on COMC.

Last year, they only brought out the purples for Series 1, so I will be interested to see if that happens. Only downside is that there really isn't a chase base card in this set.

They've had way more time to get Gattis in there, but he's not on the checklist and no word about a last minute addition for him either.

Full checklist hasn't been released yet. I'm sure we will see a couple opening day rookies in this set too. Series 2 is normally the weakest of the 3 base releases, but they won't leave it completely devoid of good players/rookies.
