ummm maybe because he's 7-2 and would have had a better record if he wasnt on a bad team he also has an era just above 2.00 and has the second most k's in the mlb.

Been the best pitcher in the NL, some people value that. He was one of the reasons I started collecting...wish I would have held on to the autos I had of him.

I am guessing you have not seen him pitch yet. He has taken no hitters into the 6th inning 5 times this year, makes established major league hitters look like children at the plate, throws 98 mph in the 7th and 8th inning, has a wipeout slider and a 4 seam fastball that has a good 3 inches of run at the plate.

He does the one thing and the one thing only this hobby cares about in the pitching department, he dominates. This hobby could care less about gaudy win totals or even great ERAs if the pitcher is a master of pitching to contact or can navigate a lineup. Thats why I never spend a dollar on a pitcher unless he has the potential to average at least 10 Ks per 9 innings.

He has talent and plays for the mets... That is all. Just playing, my girlfriend would kill me for saying that. As other people said, he is the nipples on the ti*#.

Umm ... that's kind of insane. I wonder what the record for most half-no-hitters in a season is. I will probably continue to wonder ... The Google is not very good at finding info like that.

That type of stuff is usually garnered from the broadcasters who have the Elias guy feeding them such info.

As of a coupla starts ago, Gary Cohn was pointing out that
"in his 25 big league starts, Harvey has had a legitimate bid at no hitter 5 times"

note he didnt clarify what his definition of a "legitimate bid" is.

It's funny, I watched Baseball Tonight for the first time this year on Wednesday night. I used to watch it every night.

Now I have two kids. 10 pm is bed time. Other than that I have never much enjoyed ESPN.
