Default David Ortiz meltdown

I'd bet a suspension is coming his way. That was insane!! There's no reason to "snap" like that. He destroyed a phone and the. Went back on to the field.

The MLB can barely suspend guys for PEDs... Maybe a fine, I don't think a suspension is coming.

There were players right next to him when he was hitting that phone, could have easily hit one of them. Moronic thing to do. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Yeesh just saw it, he could have really hurt his teammates swinging his bat around like that in the dugout.

Dumb, moronic, would feel terrible if someone clipped Pedroia's eye. That bat speed on that swing hitting it...though...nice.

Would think a couple games would be in order.

I would be shocked if he is suspended.
There's no rule against breaking stuff in the dugout. It's not like he's the first guy to do this. He's also not the first guy to walk back on the field after being ejected, and not be suspended.

Act like an a-hole, get treated like an a-hole, he asked for it from the beginning when he stood up straight and backed out of the box. Looked like it could have been a strike when he stood straight up, hell it was a few inches under the letters. Then he had no interest in the rest of the at bat, it's his own fault.

I only saw the highlight but they showed him throwing at least his elbow guard on the field in the direction of the umpire. Wasn't he suspended for throwing something in the past? May have been bats though.

He was backing out of the box before the pitcher even released the ball. Thats insulting.

Out of control. No suspension. But he needs to respect the game, his teammates, and opponents.

Extremely unnecessary for sure but 99.999999% of the time that's ball 4 it was way outa the strike zone. I can understand the frustration that ump has no business calling that a strike, these umps need to realize no one comes to watch them if it was close to being a strike I woulda sided with the ump. If anything they both should get suspended need to send a message to both sides that kinda behavior should not be tolerated from players & umps need to quit thinking that their the most important people on the field. Ortiz has a pretty good eye I'm sure as soon as it left the pitchers hand he knew it was ball four backing out of the box is in no way "showing up" the ump imo...

I don't know what the big deal is, that phone definitely had it coming. Did you see the way it was just hanging there on the wall staring at him. I'm glad baseball has cleaned up PED's. Can you imagine the roid rage if he was still juicing??

I say maybe a 1 game suspension, only because he walked back on the field after hitting that phone.

The funniest part is the fact that the Sox were winning and still won the game. LOL
