Yeah it wouldn't shock me if it was Tony Sanchez lol. It could be anyone really. Heck it could even be Alen Hanson

I highly doubt it would be Hanson.

But if it is Hanson I will run out of my house onto the street in a bikini.

There's no chance the ptbnl is a top 10 guy... Probly a guy in the 20-30 range.

Per Keith Law:

Quote:
For about five weeks of Byrd and Buck, the Mets get a very solid second-base prospect in Herrera. Playing full-time at age 19 in the low Class A Sally League, Herrera has shown somewhat surprising pop, with a .156 isolated power and 41 extra-base hits in 109 games. He's got a simple, quiet approach, just loading his hands a little higher than he should, with adequate hip rotation for 15-20 homer power at his peak.

He's an above-average runner whose speed hasn't translated into baserunning value, and is presently a fringy defender at second but should develop into an above-average glove given time and instruction. I'd call him a future everyday second baseman, a solid regular with a chance to be an above-average one.

I'm told by multiple sources that the Mets will receive another player to be named who is a "solid" piece, enough to make this deal even better for New York. Given how little sense there seemed to be in retaining Byrd at the July trade deadline, this is a very positive result for Mets fans after this week's other less fortunate news.

Pirates GM just said on the radio during the game that the player to be named later will be an "ouch" feeling to Pirates fans

If its Taillon or Polanco I'm gonna be pissed

It's not going to be Polanco, Taillon or Hanson. If it was, they'd be the centerpiece, not the PTBNL.

If by some miracle it were one of those three I'd go streaking.

Who do you think is the best reasonable possibility?

I think this is a pretty good trade for the Mets.

I'm not too sure. I'm not all that familiar with the Pirates farm system minus the top guys I just listed.

Last time Mets made a deal like this the PTBNL turned out to be a pretty big name, let's hope it's that again.

Placed on waivers. Claimed by the Pirates. Alternatively, another team with a lower record in the NL could have also claimed them, Mets could have released them with salary outright or pulled them back and kept them.

As much as I want that to happen, no way what you're hearing is true.
