I thought I heard someone bought one for $2,400 at a card show, negotiated down from the $2,800 asking price.

Those Valiants havent held their value at all, I'm shocked at some of the prices being quoted in this thread and wouldn't go anywhere near it for more than $250ish

The only sale I can find of another top prospect was the Sano that only got a little over $100. No way in hell I'd go anywhere near $400 for the Xander, and I consider myself to be a Valiant fan.

It had everything to do with the card that you were asking about.

Let me paraphrase what people are trying to say...Look It Up Yourself.

That said, it doesn't matter what we would pay because we're not buying it. What would YOU pay?

Doing research isnt asking others to figure something out for you. Not only is it reckless as you dont know the other persons intentions but its lazy.

"Being new to baseball" is a copout. I could know zero about baseball but still be able to look up completed sales via Ebay. These forums have been getting hammered in the last couple of days with these stupid threads. Unless it is a card that is very rare or limited there is no reason whatsoever to start a thread asking about value. Doing so indicates one of two things. Either laziness or spamming your cards to avoid the B/S/T forums. Not sure where you fall in those. It isn't personal but I don't log on to see 20 threads of 'please appraise my cards' and if nothing gets said then it will get even worse. I'm fine being the a-hole that says it.

Bingo, a man that gets a hint.

i did my research...but there are only 5 of these cards so the data and sales are limited, which was why i came here for "advice". Only the 2/5 has been sold in completed histories... it is also 9.5/10 and it was sold 4 times since July. Prices have ranged from 200-1800. i have also compared it to the puig which has only been sold in June and had redemptions and raw cards that were sold from 315-1300...

just looking for some honest thoughts since there is limited info...

Nah, I got bunches of those. If it isn't a 1/1 it is garbage.

In all seriousness just understand that a vast majority of the time these threads are created the creator is actually the owner of said card spamming it. Maybe I am wrong but I do find it strange that "being new to baseball" that you would jump right to a card like this. If I am wrong and you want a Xander let me give you some advice, ignore this one and pick up a Bowman Chrome version. It will always be worth more and you will have much better luck reaserching values. But if I'm right..................
