How reliable is Bowman Scout? I'm not a Twitter person.

It'd be nice to have an answer rather than a bunch of speculation. People are spending thousands of dollars based on the information that becomes available. It'd be nice to know Topps isn't just dicking everyone around to get extra pre-orders.

It's run by a representative of the Bowman team, and is reliable.

you mean he's reliable if he's not lying. this representative has an obligation to explain. why silent?

Just out of curiosity, why you so adamant that Bowman Scout is lying?

oh i dont know because he's avoiding a simple question asked by many. topps has a habit of flat out lying. example: are you familiar with the 2011 bowman platinum checklist before release & the one they crapped out on release date?

At the end of the day, an easy explanation is in order. If he really isn't in draft, they should explain why.."we made Kris a test card, sorry for confusion," or whatever the reason is.

Do you think it's reliable enough that Bryant is positively NOT in 2013 bdp (at least not as a chrome auto) and definitely in 2014 Bowman, as Bowman Scout has announced?

I already have 7 cases pre-ordered that I want regardless, but I have access to about 5 more that I could also pre-order...this would obviously be helpful information in making that decision lol

Yeah this is the worst design for bowman in a while.

I have no reason to suspect any sort of deception. Remember, for the past several years, Topps held off the #s 1 and 2 draft picks' first Chrome autos for the following year's Bowman.

Gray, Ball, Meadows, JP Crawford, Kaminsky... If most of these guys make final checklist I will probably get a case.

for the past two years to be specific, so hardly a trend. jameson taillon was in 2010 draft.

There's more, if we're talking #2 picks.

#2 pick Ackley (2009) = 2010 Bowman
#2 pick Moustakas (2007) = 2008 Bowman

And if we're talking #1 there's Price and Harper.

thats all fine but jameson taillon, #2 in 2010 was in 2010 bowman draft. suggesting it all makes sense that bryant wouldnt be in there doesnt hold water.

How bout this simple conclusion Festus?

The initial idea was for Kris Bryant to be in 2013 Bowman Draft. However; because pre-sale numbers were so high (due to a successful '12 Draft) for the product already; Topps decided to pull back Bryan from '13 Draft and include him in '14 Bowman; where his announcement would sell more cases (because the product needed someone to carry it).

Kris Bryant, not realizing that he was going to be asked to trash the cards Bowman initially sent him; decided to tweet a picture of his card like so many have done before; and Topps immediately announced he would be in '14 Bowman as damage control.

there are a slew of possibilities & i'm fine with any of them. this however shouldnt even be debated as topps should have nipped this in the bud immediately.

Should the Bryant Auto be removed from the list in the OP?

Well, I'm willing to bet the decision to have Bryant in Bowman '14 was made weeks ago; but Topps generally doesn't tweet that kind of thing until next year.

It was oversight on their part to not tell Bryant that he would not be in '13 Draft ; one that Topps makes very very often. Likely the slew of releases these past few weeks has taken their mind off of anything other than Chrome, Chrome, Finest, Update (and Blue Wave packs).

it was pretty much announced three weeks ago that he'd be in 2014 bowman considering his auto'd card is on the sell sheet:

THIS^^^^
it's the BRYCE HARPER bait and switch all over again.
the main problem is giving one company the mlbpa/mlb license plain and simple.

It's too bad, I like the 2013 Bryant much much MUCH more than the 2014.
