How the hell can you forget John Mozeliak? I hate to sound like a homer, but jesus, dude. Look at the big league club; look at the great, bold non-moves made; look at the acquisition made at the lack of talent expended; look at the success of the franchise. He's arguably the best in all of sports, up there with the Red Wings.

Uh, no. How the **** did he build LONG-TERM SUCCESS? Jock was great in his day, but the day of overpaying via trade and free agency in order to build successful clubs is dead. A) Mo was the guy who drafted all the talent we have now, B) Jock was NOTORIOUS for gutting farm systems. "Long-term success" and "Walt Jocketty" don't belong in the same sentence. He's a great win-now general manager, but he does what it takes to win now at the sacrifice of the future.

In general I'd say all GMs get too much credit/blame really. There's a whole team of front office people who contribute, etc.
Money or lack of is certainly a consideration and Cherington probably also should be listed but he has not been the GM long. I also agree that the GM of a team often gets too much blame/credit but they do represent an organization. If you feel that an organization's front office is the best in baseball, then it is likely the GM is the one who put that staff together.

He was a name I also was going to place on the list but let's see what his long term stay brings. So far he has been great though.

So, can I put you down for Mozeliak?

I'm not happy that Dayton Moore is on this list.

I am happy that no one is foolish enough to vote for him.

I just didn't vote. You got lots of rules for an online forum poll.

I don't see how you can even say that.Jocketty has been gone for 6 years, and the farm system was awful when he left.If Mozeliak isn't #1, he has to be awfully close.

They remain relevant every year regardless what the rest of the league/division does.
Cardinals are relevant every year. Lose the best player in the NL? No problem. Just keep winning the division and competing for a pennant every year. I'm not a Cards fan, but I respect the hell out of what that organization consistently does year after year.

P.S. Voted "Other". Put me down for the Cardinals GM.

I always appreciate respect from other fans.Your Dodgers have built one scary roster, I'm hoping my team doesn't have to meet them in the playoffs again.

Huge payroll, busted system and nothing to show for it. Stop being such a homer. If that is your vote, I will certainly put you down for that.

I personally like the direction that he and his staff are taking the Royals. Much like the Astros, it takes a while but I think it will translate to long term success. I only had 10 slots, so some will feel like I left the 'best' off, in their opinion. It is not solely based on results, as names like Cashman and Cherington were left off for differing reasons.

With the money they give him, I take friedman. He wins in a very tough division, with zero money. He'd kill in a market like stl,la,ny,chi, with money.

I don't understand your logic. This game is based off of *results*, not potential. If you haven't accomplished anything you don't deserve to be in the poll.Huntington doesn't deserve to be on here either. His teams have been awful, before finally making playoffs last year.

Whoever said Farrell should be listed? He's not even a GM.Come on.
