Default Glutton for punishment....why?

So I head to target to look for some EEE blasters. Of course they don't have them. So I go ahead and grab a blaster of prism basketball, score/prism football superbox, and a 13/14 black diamond hockey box and pull absolutely nothing. No detractors, no sigs, no patches nothing but basecards. That is $60 I could have spent on a decent pc card. Why do I do it? Have done it dozens of times and thousands of dollars and I never pull squat. I swear its like heroin.

Man, I went through the same thing. Around Last Thanksgiving I said to myself "no more retail!" and I stopped cold turkey (while eating turkey, lol). It's done wonders for my PC and when I do open packs it's only hobby or a box break and I enjoy that even more. Every trip to Target or Walmart I will walk over to the card aisle but then remind myself that I will be disappointed even if I buy a pack or two. Ripping open a retail pack is fun, but then seeing the crap you get is not.

As for those EEE blasters, sure, a lot of people have been hitting more autos than advertised but it seems that it's only of the lower end prospects.

I think George Costanza said it best... "Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in!"

True but some low end prospects turn into real studs. It's like I need my fix or something. With no lcs within 50 + miles and the one that is doesn't do wax its kind of my only option. Sure I could order, but then I couldn't get my instant fix lol.

It doesn't come out until tomorrow, so probably wasn't an option yet.

No LCS near you? Those cards at Target are really tempting, but Ive learned to just walk away. $60 can buy a lot on Ebay these days.

Try kicking your addiction after pulling Lucky Redemption #4 out of a Bowman blaster box from Target...wasted much more money on more blasters right after.

Because we're all low-life, degenerate gamblers. That's all buying packs and boxes is. Gambling.

This is true. I guess I'm spoiled by the LCSs near me and I'm not really a prospector. Well, gotta do what you enjoy

Indeed...I believe Mike Corleone said it first in GF3 though:

If you want to try and kick the addiction you should keep track of the cost throughout the year. Once you see that total getting high your going to really reconsider the opportunity cost of buying retail instead of PC cards.

Retail is for suckers. Sure every once in a while something big shows up and is posted on here. But are you going to pull that card? Hell no!

^^^ DING DING DING ^^^

You know the bad thing for me is that I live in Vegas and when I feel the need to open boxes or join a group break I go to the casino as it actually SAVES me money as I get alot better value there

Lol. I bought 3 hobby boxes and got my money back and then on my last one I got burned. That was enough for me stop buying boxes and only buy singles. Buying singles is really REALLY fun for me

Same here.I haven't bought any retail in about a year, and don't regret it at all.
