I was watching that game live, and it was impressive. I remember being 100% chastized and told I was a complete and total Moron on the Blowout Boards when I stood behind my feelings in 2007 that Andrew McCutchen would be a better player than Cameron Maybin. I am 100% dead serious that I had probably six people attack me about how stupid my claim was with McCutchen over Maybin. I'm definitely not always right by any stretch of the imagination, but it does crak me up sometimes when I look back on these claims. I also was burned at the stake when I told everyone Jaime Garcia would be a better pitcher than Homer Bailey, but I will also admit that I stated Jay Bruce would be much better than Evan Longoria. Meh.

Maybin was a piece of the trade that brought us Miggy.

God bless him.

Maybin is a total mess at the plate right now. He changed his stride last year and had some positive results but then had a horrendous finish to the season. This year, he is totally lost. The Padres signed him to an extension after 2011 with the idea he would be the new face of the franchise. Just like most of Josh Byrnes' dealings, it obviously hasn't worked out so far.
