Default Masahiro Tanaka Printing Plate

i pulled a black printing plate 1/1 last week in a Bowman HTA pack. I haven't seen any of these hit ebay yet and i was wondering what value/price range it may fall in. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Well you may have the first one so you can set the price. The Kris Bryant one sold for $90 I think. Do to Tanakas recent success maybe 110-120 sounds good?? Also make sure to open it up to international buyers!

Put it up on ebay with a high BIN/BO, open to international buyers and see what happens.

Actually if you really want it you need to be the one to initiate the offer. Send him a PM!

Yeah, this will deeeefinitely go for over $90. Since it's Tanaka, I wouldn't be surprised by $300+ maybe even $500+.

I thought that at first but when you check out how much the low numbered mini referactors have sold for it is more likely to be within $150-$200.

People commonly don't like printing plates. Due to this I believe your evaluation is rather high.

Yeah, when comparing chrome prices, a 1/1 printing plate generally sells for between the prices of a gold refractor /50 and orange refractor /25.

I think it will get between $250-300. I would put a buy it now/best offer at $499 and see what happens.

Congrats on the pull! I'd put it up 99 cents and let it ride!

$0.99, let it ride (open to International bidders), hope to $300+, would be happy with $150, personally.

Agreed on that. I've thought Tanaka was just an outlier in X respects.. we'll have to wait and see.

Commonly yes, but a 1/1 Tanaka.. I doubt its value would hold at such a high level, but looking at the crazy bidding going on even for his bases, I think we're in the middle of a feeding frenzy. Like with the Strasburg/Harper supers of yore.

I just sold an Eric Davis plate for 100 bucks... I'm with you, 300-500 should be expected. The people saying 100 bucks seem a bit low.

Well to be fair, whoever paid that much money for an Eric Davis plate is a moron. I would like to see a link to the sale cuz that just doesn't sound believable. On E-Bay one plate from Gypsy Queen has been sold and it went for $25...

2014 Eric Davis Topps Gypsy Queen 1 of 1 Collectible Printing Plate | eBay

These were the sales from the plates I sold:

Steven Carlton $21
Nolan Ryan $60
Mike Trout $100 (who would you rather have, Trout or Eric Davis?)
Tommy Milone $7.50

The first couple Tanaka printing plates did each sell for $500 but they are nowhere near that anymore. Here are some recent sales of Tanaka printing plates:

Masahiro Tanaka 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Mini Framed Yellow Printing Plate 1 1 WOW | eBay $182

Masahiro Tanaka 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Rookie Cyan Printing Plate 1 1 | eBay $133

Masahiro Tanaka 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Yellow Printing Plate 1 1 WOW | eBay $293

Bowman has been out for awhile and the super hype from Tanaka has gone by so $150-$250 sounds more reasonable

Asking for a link kills me by the way... like I'm going to lie about a card selling for 100 bucks... its 100 bucks...

Also, the gypsy queen clear mini sold for like 400 bucks. There are a lot of Eric Davis fans out there and I know of a few that will pay good money.

Heres one, not really a plate but you get the idea...

Also, you priced the Davis at buy it now for 24.99 .... so yeah, it sold for 24.99. Crazy how that happens.

Yes I'm aware the plate I sold was not gypsy but the clear mini that sold for 400 was. People who have PC
go crazy for 1/1's. You could have gotten a lot more for the Davis plate if you had asked, just takes the right person
seeing it.
