Default Just an idea that might be fun to do

I think I have decided how this is going to be run. The rules are all defined below, I want to keep this small so the first attempt at doing this will be very limited. If it works I will do it again after this one is finished, hopefully with some good lessons learned and improvements!

HOW IT WILL WORK

1) There will be 7 initial participants for the first round.
- these participants will be chosen by me from the people who ask to join in this. I reserve the right to not pick everyone who asks to do it, decision to join will be based on iTrader, feedback, amount of activity on Blowout and any previous interactions I have had with anyone or any other reason I do not get a good vibe.

2) I will send out the first package of 5 cards that will be in a padded envelope and will all be top loaded in team bags. You are expected to ship in the same manner. Reusing the padded envelope is fine, but replace it if it needs it.

3) All packages WILL BE SENT with tracking and the tracking number will be posted in this thread in order for us all to keep track of things being sent.

4) When the package is received on your end post in this thread that package was received. After you decide which cards you are going to keep post that as well in the thread, but DO NOT Post what the five cards in the package still are. Let that be a surprise to the people receiving the package next!

5) You will replace the cards you take with the same amount of cards IE if you take three cards you will replace them with three new cards. All cards will be in the $3-15 SV range. The cards you use as replacements will be worth no more than $1 less than the card you took out and all cards must be worth at least $3.

6) Cards that can be placed in the package are as follows: anything other than base. Base cards are allowed only if they are Base cards from pre 1980 and are worth at least $3 in the condition they are in. For clarification to everyone, I do not consider RC's base cards so any RC with a SV of $3 or higher is perfectly fine to be put in.

7) You have no more than four days to send the package on to the next person from the day of receiving it.

8) I will be the last person on the list so whatever the last 5 cards are will be shared with everyone to see how it turns out. When I receive the final package I will post what the initial five cards sent out were and what the final five cards returned were.

9) if you want to join post below that you would like to join, what spot that is left you would like and what teams you collect (only used as a guide to the person sending to you. You are not held to send only cards of the team the person you are sending collects, but it may help if you are deciding what to put back in the envelope.)

10) any confusion or questions, ask away! Also do not put you address in the thread. I will PM everyone when I am ready for addresses and I will send the address out to only the person who needs it to send the package on.

THE PARTICIPANTS

1) WCTYSON
Cards were received and decided to keep none. Package sent on to gbulldogs1010.
2) Gbulldogs1010
3) 66_fiat
4) shabagel
5) waulk11
6) wwejhardyrox
7) Dashcol (me)

So we could limit it to members who have already proven themselves to be trustworthy.

We could also just have everyone post a pic when they receive the package and another when they send it.

Limit should be 650 posts, 40 iTrade feedback and no sea duty!

I can easily get to the 650 posts and 40 I trader before it started, but the sea duty is a bit of a low blow!

What $2 to send it to the next person? You can even reuse the envelope to send it on.

To me spending $2 to move three cards I do not want to keep and potentially get three I love, and making some friends and contacts in the process...well worth $2. Heck I spend $3 a day on a cup of coffee, I could skip that once and send the cards out and make a dollar!

Thanks for the read. I am debating about starting this now...it is working this time in football, but I would hate to have it fail here and it seems like baseball is a bit pessimistic about this working so, it may be dropped.

You should get definitive answers on who is involved and update the OP with who wants to join in. Once we get a few in, more should follow and join. Most seem to be optimistic, except these guys below whom you would not want to be a part of it anyway.

I will update. I am thinking I may try what mmbtvs did in FB and make it more of a larger box, I could come up with 300 ish cards but they would not all be auto/numbered/gu but it would include RCs, BC minis etc that would be nice to some people.

Question though. Would it be wrong of me to put myself last so the box gets sent back to me at the end? I mean starting this off with me donating three cards to the cause does not bother me but 100-300 cards is a bit more than I could afford.

I like your idea better but we could increase to amount of cards if you like.

I love the idea in principle. I wonder if say, 5 cards would be more ideal instead of 3 or 300 in a box? 3 may be too few, and 5 should be able to ship for the same cost as 3 in a bubble mailer, and perhaps make it conform to standards established by PSA for submissions, like using Card Saver I's?

Yeah I like that. I don't know about using card savers, I do not have any to begin with and no LCS near me( kind of the reason I wanted to try this out!) I am trying to figure this all out and I am leaning towards the 5-6 card amount.

That sounds like a solid amount. Any more in on this?
