Talking Anyone watch the Little League World Series?

I like watching these kids compete without money on their minds. Just good old baseball. It's amazing how big some of these kids are. I saw a kid that was 12 years old and he was 6 feet tall.

Can't stand it. I got out of little league as soon as I could and just played on a travel team. We played on full size fields, could lead off, and play real baseball. Some of these kids are too big to be pitching from 45 feet and hitting on a field that has 200 ft fences.

Plus as noted above little league seems to miss one of the golden rules " there's no crying in baseball"

There's nothing wrong with watching those 12 year olds and their muscly arms. I know this guy does too.

Was that Virginia vs. Georgia? Walk off in the bottom of the 6th after trailing by 6?

Watched the Maine vs. MA game with my son tuesday night (DVR'd it), was happy to see Maine win.

Was hoping for no rain today, the boy has a new bat that needs to be broken in (Demarini CF6, 30" BBCOR) even though he doesn't need it until spring (unless I can find him a fall team to join).

a few years ago there was a kid playing 1B for Saudi Arabia or somewhere like that who was like 6'9 245.

Then there was Danny Almonte, who was a 15 year old throwing like 80 pretending to be a 12 y/o

The Saudi big kid was Aaron Durley. He was at TCU on a basketball scholarship, but had to end his career last year due to knee issues.

We were all 11 year olds and we held our own. Just saying I think since these kids are so talented it would do them well to start as soon as possible on the bigger field, being able to pick off, and follow all the rules

Agreed.....LLWS gets a lot of publicity because of its history and the ESPN coverage, but these teams are joke in comparison to the better USSSA clubs at the same age level. I would guess that most of the LLWS kids are playing on travel clubs in addition to their Little League team, so its not like they are stunting their development. But it would be MUCH better to watch the USSSA National tournament.

my nephew just played in a 12u USSSA world series and they nearly made the finals without their ace pitcher, i got to see a strong local team in little league district a few years back and they beat a team that advanced to williamsport but lost in the single elimination playoffs to another team that had advanced a few times b4, the best usssa teams i've seen would of gotten slaughtered by that team! they did have 1 of the best little leaguers in the world

I really want the Jackie Robinson Little League Team from Chicago to win the whole thing. They have a really good team.

I want Jackie Robinson to win too, only team I've watched. Don't care too much for the other states playing each other, I like watching the different countries face off though
