Talking ****Official 2015 Chicago White Sox Thread****

Hey guys,

With all the recent deals the Sox have made, I have become really excited for next year. I think they have a legitimate chance of being a solid team and maybe even a contender.

Here's what I think the lineup will be:

1. Adam Eaton CF
2. Melky Cabrera LF
3. Jose Abreu 1B
4. Adam LaRoche DH
5. Avisail Garcia RF
6. Alexei Ramirez SS
7. Conor Gillaspie 3B
8. Tyler Flowers C
9. Micah Johnson 2B

Bench players:
1. George Kottaras C
2. Jordan Danks OF
3. Carlos Sanchez IF
4. Emilio Bonifacio IF/OF

Here is my rotation:
1. Chris Sale
2. Jeff Samardzija
3. Jose Quintana
4. Hector Noesi
5. John Danks

The bullpen:
1. Javy Guerra
2. Daniel Webb
3. Zach Duke (Lefty Specialist)
4. Dan Jennings
5. Zach Putnam (7th inning guy)
6. Jake Petricka (Setup guy)
7. David Robertson (Closer)

Feel free to add any projections/comments. I'll edit this post with some of my projections when I have more time.

Thanks guys and GO SOX!!!!!

Jeez that bench is awful besides Sanchez. I see the pen being:

Robertson
Patricka
Duke
Putnam
Rodon
Guerra
Webb

They'll get a LFer so no viciedo. Pretty solid and at the very least way better than last year. Well hopefully the 3 or so other sox fans on here will post here

I'd guess they'll give Brantly atleast the backup job at C. I'd sure hope they add atleast 1 more bat.

Hahn said on mlb network that they weren't done and he knows there still some holes so I'm confident that he'll trade for a LFer. Also would like to see them add someone like bonifacio or asdrubal. Can't go with Leaury as your platoon player for Conor.

Melky Cabrera's name came up this morning on the radio. I do know that the Mariners are the favorites to get him.

At this point, it doesn't really seem likely. According to kW, were coming up a little short on money. Keep in mind they would like to extend shark if he does well plus raises in the coming years etc. I'm guessing they make a trade for a LFer. At least in two years, danks, laroche, alexei, will be off the books (like 36mil a year combined atm)

I feel like there is still plenty of time for moves to be made. So I wouldnt get too far ahead with the lineup building. But yippie for Chicago baseball being relevant again!!!

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Shark. I now have to admitt to the cub fans at work that they did have a good pitcher on their roster in the past. That was hard to do.

I have to admit, with samardzija the rotation looks good

I'd like to see how they do against the Cubs though

hopefully rodon moves along quickly so Noesi can be replaced

if only josh fields amounted to something
would be nice to have a better power hitting 3B

think dayan will be dealt for one more bullpen arm

The White Sox have acquired left-handed reliever Dan Jennings from the Miami Marlins in exchange for right-hander Andre Rienzo.

I would prefer someone with a bit more power like melky , reddick, etc but don't see either of those happening so I wonder what Rick Hahn has in mind. And also please no ichiro. Saw that floored around. 4th ofer fine. But not starting please

White sox just picked up Dan Jennings from the marlins in a trade.

Yeah, I don't want Ichiro either. I'm hopeful that Avisail Garcia stays healthy and can show us his power.

Good signing but 1 of the worst farms in baseball has no 2nd and 3rd round pick.

This is a big worry but life is moving to fast for me to sit and wait for our farm system to produce. Plus the players in the farm system are not guaranteed to produce once in the majors.

I've never understood this logic..... I've never seen a teams AAA squad win them a World Series...... If a teams ML roster is strong enough to contend for a pennant, who the hell cares what the farm system looks like...... A minor leaguer is just that until he can prove himself at the ML level..... We've all seen our fair share of "can't miss" guys fall by the wayside..... Give me ML talent on the ML roster over a good farm any day of the week and twice on Sunday !!!

Not all of the studs in the cubs minor leagues are going to be studs in the majors

I'll admit I'm excited about rodon but besides him, prospects just don't excite that much. I've seen way too many fail, in Chicago alone , to think anything but "prospects are suspects".. Let's see at the top of my head, Brian Anderson, Ryan Sweeney, Corey Patterson, Felix pie , hee sop choi, Jeremy reed, josh fields, josh vitters, Brett Jackson, Gordon beckham, bobby hill, Jon rauch, joe borchard and a string of awful pitchers by the sox from Sean Tracey to lance Broadway etc so yes you hit on some, miss on a ton lol

No one said they will but when we win it will be most of the homegrown talent that does it for us not over paid talent.

Most teams win nowadays with home grown talent. Sox have 1 great one in Sale but they need to produce guys to succeed. Dodgers go out and overpay for players and how far has that gotten them? Cardinals and Yanks won with mostly homegrown talent. Boston won with chemistry and some homegrown talent. Knock the system strategy all you want but it works.

Lester was terrific in the Cubs minor league

My uneducated guess is one or three of their prospects will be dealt when Cubs serious contenders
