Default Ever wonder how many 1/1 cards have been made?

Ever wonder how many 1/1 cards have been made?

I personally love it when a 1/1 is found in a Beckett Box Busters box and “outrage” erupts from a seemingly always agitated few.

Why?

Because the 1/1 is nowhere close to being what it used to be.

Ever wonder how many 1/1s have been made?

Well, I looked up last year’s total — just for baseball.

It will surprise you. Find out how many were made after the jump …

How many of those were found in Box Busters videos? How many were found by you, personally? (If you even bother to open wax.)

‘Nuff said.

Frankly, I’ve seen many more impressive cards found by others — cards rarer, cards more expensive — out of many a collectors’ boxes. (Even boxes provided to other outlets free by card companies, too, but we’ll not dwell on that.)

Oh, and the card above? As always, the notable pulls will go into collectors’ hands. Look for details on how you can win that card in Beckett Baseball No. 56 … coming soon.

Ever wonder how many 1/1 cards have been made? The Beckett Blog

It is not proper for a company like Beckett to take free products. If they bought the products offf the shelf it would be ok. Until then they will need to put up with the "outrage". Of course the companys are going to send them loaded boxes.

Sounds to me like you'd have been better off buying from Shop At Home during the Don West era...

the part of beckett should by the buy is soooooo true. they should buy the boxes from a secondary source like blowout
that would give people a unbias break

how many kobe autos have we seen them pull this year on video breaks?
how many kobe autos did you pull this year?
how many total cases did you buy vs becketts 2 box breaks to hit a kobe

A little different pulling say a 1/1 plate of some scrub versus a 1/1 AP Exq rookie and Payton cut auto.

I think Beckett is overblown its top. If Beckett can get free boxes from card companies (whom we know load boxes - Look at 2008 Razor Signature breaks). Then they are basically saying "This is what every box of this product has in it." When it is not reality. Therefore, Beckett is deceiving customers into thinking they get more than what they really do. In other terms it is related to as "Bait and Switch". Beckett has a right to review boxes, but Beckett should support the LCS's that they have on their site, and not get it through the card companies.

I think Beckett SHOULD get free boxes to break open and review, but not from the manufacturer.

Instead, local card shops could send Beckett a box in exchange for a little free advertisement in the video and on the website.
