Default Reds Fans: What are your predictions for Joey Votto this year?

I love see Votto healthy and in the lineup again! I'm think .315 avg, 25 homeruns, and 90 rbi this year. What do you guys think?

The reds looked great today. I have a high expectations for this year. I'd say his average hovers around .310 with 28 homers and 100+ RBIs if the team can get on base. Hopefully he becomes a little more aggressive to drive in runs. Go Reds!

Not especially a Reds fan, but I see Votto returning to being one of the top players in the league yet again. I am truly baffled as to why people already want to give up on him. Despite last year (which was a result on injuries), I see no reasons to expect a decline just yet.

I think 100+ RBI's is a little high for the #2 hole in the NL.

I'm thinking between .310-.320, 20+ homers and 70+ RBI's. I could see him being top 3 in the league in OBP and top 5 in average, maybe leading the league in Walks. Looked really good today, made me hopeful that he is back to his old form.

RBI's will depend on if they drop him down to #3 hole, with frazier ahead of him. But I like the current lineup structure

Great? They had 5 hits and struck out 8 times.

im tribe fan first, reds second since i root for all ohio teams. honestly i see votto at .308 17 hrs 75 rbi...still no real pop in his bat which for his size is kinda sad. like to see him play at least 145-150 games

Votto doesn't hit a ton of HRs not because he doesn't have any pop. It's because he refuses to be a pull hitter. He'd easily hit 30-35 HR/season if he just wanted to pull everything (especially at GABP). Instead he waits for good pitches and likes to put the ball in the opposite field more times than not.

Anyway, my predictions for the season...

.315
24 HR
104 RBI
41 2B

Votto has gotten a bad rap the last year or two because his power numbers are down so I'm think the move to the 2 hole will be very beneficial to him. I personally loves the way that he approaches his at bats. Id take a guy who hits over .300, gets on base 40% of the time, and drives in 75-90 runs than a guy who bats in the .250s but drives in 100

I think Votto will really push himself this year to avoid RBIs as much as possible. Personal best of 20 in first 100 games. At that point, he will finally understand he is not, in fact, a professional golfer and that higher scores are better.
