For instance...

If I was able to locate a "B" or "Y", would you trade me your gold Famous Fabrics 1/1 redemption for it?

Thing is: you would trade a card that you don't need for a card you need, when I would just swap one card of my PC for another one

So you don't worry about this at all, I was hypothetically speaking. I don't have one of these Barkley letters, nor do I know where one is. I could try to find one or more, if I knew I could add to my collection as well.

One way to look at it might be:

You would be getting closer to completing his name. It's not likely you will be able to complete the set of gold 1/1 SK Famous Fabrics gold redemptions anyway. So trading one of those in order to possibly complete his name might be an attractive offer. Maybe not. I have traded SK 1/1s away before in order to add to certain insert sets I like better. I just thought I'd throw it out there. I don't know that I could ever find one. You've obviously been looking for a long time, as I have never searched for any.

Just a thought.

I know it was just a thought

I have seen at least 2 other Flair Lettermen on eBay (I think that was the B and the Y actually!) 4-5 years ago, at the time I did not really want to go after all the letters as they are actually all the same insert card, numbered /7, so to me I just needed one to complete my PC. However very recently I was offered 2 of them, so I told myself I could actually complete the name.

That's different for the Famous Fabrics as each of them is a 1/1, so I'll try to get them all.

I know I'll never be able to get all the Barkley 1/1s, but that would be hard to part with one in order to obtain another! I'll try to get as close to completion as possible (as of today, I've got 17 1/1s out of 71 in existence, including 7 Sportkings/Famous Fabrics out of 16).

Edit: I kept a scan from one of the eBay auctions:

I definitely understand.

You might not believe this, but I am happy that the SK Famous Fabrics Barkley 1/1 is in your collection. As I mentioned before, it's nice to see it end up in the hands of a collector that truly appreciates it.

So there is only 1 Game Used Auto Jersey (1/1) for Barkley after all of these years?

Here is the 98-99 SP Authentic Authentics Barkley 1/1 redemption. It uses up the rest of the Game Used "Patch" Pieces from the first year GJ Set.

It also includes the UD GJ Autographed 1/1 for Barkley.

I also have the Hakeem 1/1 from the set but the auto card they sent was a Silver SOTT card instead of a GJ card...

EDIT: Here is the paperwork that UD sent me along with the items. The scans on the right is of the orginal cards front and back, I asked that they send them back to me but they declined due to legal reasons so they sent the scans and shipping receipt.

There is a separate UDA card (not pictured) for the Barkley since the GU Auto 1/1 was not a special print so the card itself does not have the UD Auto print that auto cards have, hence the UDA sticker...

EDIT: Here is the text of the letter stating that it is the game used pieces. This was taken with my phone. A scan will be done at a later time if I decide to sell.

Sorry I guess the PM's from the other 2 people are not public and I was answering questions above as if they were.

That is yet to be decided. I was a HUGE collector of game used memorablia and 1/1's back in the 90's to early 2000's. A significant portion of my collection was lost recently. I am currently finding what is left and deciding if I will sell it off or start over. Starting over will be a daunting task as alot of impossible to replace items were lost forever.

The Barkley and Hakeem, as well as some other smaller items, were not at the location that was destroyed.

I used to run GameJersey.com (no longer running) that showcased my collection as well as other 'museum' type collections that I had hoped to keep up so people could see cards that they would otherwise never be able to see.

I had posted on the Beckett forums recently but got no response on where a good place to sell cards was nowadays since ebay fees seem quite a bit higher than I remember...

No problem at all. Don't be sorry.

I was only asking because I'm sure Round Mound would love to have it, and I didn't previously see him asking if it was for sale. I don't want it. I hope if you sell it, he gets it as it will go into one of the most amazing Barkley PCs I have ever seen. A museum quality piece should end up in a museum quality collection if you ask me.

I'm sorry to hear some of your collection was lost. Best of luck moving forward.

from another PM. Here is a few cards that are left that are worthy of note that have been found so far.

The Robinson and Malone are the error Game Jersey Cards (they were later corrected)

The Griffey Jr is one that shows wear and tear (a rip)

The Kobe GJ19 with the LA Patch letters is the last card I remember buying on ebay many many years ago.

The rest are multicolor rares and 2 Brett Hull /25 Autos.

The Lakers Floor is from the 98-99 SP Authentics Redemption (25)

I totally agree. I would prefer the items go into other PC rather than selling to a reseller. I just dont know if I have the time/heart to try and find buyers for all the rarer items individually.

Just be thankful that you appear to be the only Barkley 1/1 master set collector! It can be really frustrating at times when you are very passionate about a product or athlete, and there is only one of a particular type of card to go around...

But how amazing is that - that you just happen to post your master-listing of 1/1s, and along comes GameJersey with pictures of one you may have never expected to see?

GameJersey - if these are samples of side-items that were stored apart from your master collection, I can't imagine what you actually lost... I'm really sorry for your loss.

You got that right! For instance...I'm so happy those gold mini parallels in SK are numbered of 3 instead of 1/1s. Making them of 3 at least gives people a shot at putting the entire set together. A set of 1/1s is next to impossible to complete.

I only found these forums because of the Barkley. I was searching google for Barkley Game Used Jersey Cards to compare other 1/1's and it returned this thread about a week ago. Since then I have been trying to get verified by the mods to be able to post

I am very shocked there have not been more 1/1 Barkley Game Used Auto items. I guess he retired at the right time

I asked on Beckett but no one answered, is there anywhere else reliable to sell cards besides ebay? I remember a 'dealer net' or 'sports net' like 15 years ago but have no idea if it is still around...

Actually I'm not a Barkley 1/1 master set collector, I collect anything related to Barkley, which includes of course all his trading cards (1583 as of today, including foreign versions, press sheets, uncut sheets from magazines, oddballs) as well as posters, shoes, jerseys, shirts, figures, bobbleheads, UDA items, Nike and McDonalds items, Sports Impressions items, phone cards, magazines, books, etc

I don't think I'm the only one chasing for Barkley 1/1s though

Here are a few pics of my "Barkley room":

- some of my press sheets:

- trading cards:

- a few large items:

- some smaller items:

- Upper Deck Authenticated items:

Round Mound - Have you acquired a Barkley Game Used Jersey? With your passion for collecting him, I would think that would be high on your list if not already done.
