Thanks! Nothing like pulling a card you never thought you would get a chance to pull!

some people just can't eat crow around here. I mean why would the guy lie about getting a damaged MJ rookie?

I figured it would happen, I have read this board for a long time and have seen it happen over and over. I normally don't post, had to in this case though as for me it was the 1 card I have always wanted to pull myself. As a Jordan collector for years and a big fan of that set there isn't a card I would rather pull than that one for sentimental sake.

because he said he pulled one of the most sought after cards. Why would someone believe anything on the internet? People asked for pics and they got them, why would someone need to eat "crow" about that. He posted the pictures, he has the card so it doesn't matter, still doesn't mean he pulled it from that pack I have no faith in the internet community though (not directed at OP, just in general)

That post explains a lot about you! I'm sorry for you non belief in what people say. But that leads to my question why the hell are you even on here then?

I totally know what you mean. I have been thinking about buying a graded pack for a long time but have put it off. Maybe someday I will build up the strengh.

If you do just do whatever you can to make sure the pack/box is unsearched. I got really lucky with this one, the packs can be searched though without being opened if the person knows what they are doing.

Doesn't it have something to do with who the players are and the order of the cards?

Exactly. There is a specific order that for the most part is followed. From what I was told you can see every card on the front of the pack, I know the set pretty good and couldn't tell who was on the front of the pack.

If someone really wants to know who is on the front it can't be too tough to find out. Even a graded back that has never been opened could be seached. If you buy a pack and can tell who is on the front I could help you figure out if you have a Jordan or not. It isn't 100%, is pretty consistent though.

I knew a little bit about how these were packed before I opened mine, now I realize after doing more research how lucky I was. Such a high in demand product that can be searched or resealed pretty easily if you know what you are looking for or doing makes it pretty easy to get hosed.

I have a complete set that I put together off ebay. I have bought sets for about 5 years, if any of the cards improved the cards in my set I replaced them then just resold the set. I have probably gone through 15 to 20 sets.

Anyone that done this set knows how tough centering, edges, and corners are, my set is pretty nice now. None of the cards I got in my pack improved my set.

I wouldn't have questioned it w/out it. I don't see the need to lie about a pull in the first place. I actually saw the same MJ RC at the LCS yesterday and I almost jumped through the glass to buy it but the owner tells me that there is a slight crease but it wasn't even noticable even w/ light. So how much do you think a fair price for that Jordan RC is? and if graded what's the best you could get w/ a slight(rarely noticable w/naked eye) bend?

Skins, I agree with whats posted above, I think you are probably looking 350-400 range minimum. There was one locally I was going to try and pick up and thats the range we were debating as well.

Exactly...why would he lie? I agree. If someone gets pleasure out of making up a story and lying about something like this then I really feel sorry for that person. How pathetic would someone have to be to get pleasue out of something like that.

Agreed. If he doens't believe anything on the internet then why does he waste his time on a forum page. Obviously not everything on the interent is true but I think most of us have a good idea of what/who to believe and what/who not to belive. Life is way too short to lie about things like this.

I purchased a PSA 7 about a year ago but forget how much I paid exactly. I want to say I paid between $350-$450? I'll try to look it up. I think it was closer to $450 than $350 though. Maybe $420-ish.

I just wanted a pic of the card thats all, if he pulled it great...if he didnt great....I sorta have to agree with fm though, way too many people recently are getting a good hit out of a "few" packs...but I guess it can happen because I did so the other day with 4 packs....all-in-all great pull and congrats

People get good hits out of a "few" packs because they don't post the crap they get out of the other hundred packs.
