They used to be a very rare annual insert set back in the 90s. They were inserted only once in 100s of packs, and there was big, huge demand for them especially if you pulled someone good.

Now UD this year released a retro product, featuring a return of the Precious Metal Gems. Although they are inserted with more frequency into packs compared to the 90s stuff, they are still demanding huge market value because hard core collectors (esp. ones who collected back in the 90s) go nuts over them.

There originally were only two versions, red and green, but in this year's UD Retro there are 3: Red, Blue, and Green (in order from most common to least common.)

yea thanks I just looked at ebay and craziness ensuing especially over the green one of Jordan selling for $50,000 that is insane!!

a member on here listed it for 50K and sold it off ebay, he would not disclose the price but it did not sell for 50K.

the Jordan Blue PMG 23/50 ended at 20K on eBay a couple of weeks ago, but know one knows if the transaction completely went through.
