Default NBA Lockout

Well, it seems everyone thinks and knows there will be a lockout next season, with no basketball to be played. I for one truly hope this doesn't happen, but if it does, what does that do to card values if there is no NBA season??

I think it will stay the same, however, we wont see any surges in values for specific players when they get hot.

With that said, I think collectors will continue to focus on old school sets and they will continue to rise in value.

The big time guys won't change - at least for their top end stuff - you aren't going to start getting Durant RC Autos for half price.

I do think the "average" Durant Auto, LeBron Auto, Kobe Auto etc...would drop during a lockout.

Jordan,

it is had to tell.

I would say they the lockout would be either the entire 2011-12 season or just the first 40 or so games.

Right now there's just a lot of talk and you really can't tell for sure until closer to the deadline. Both sides like to talk worst case scenario. Plus, keep in mind a lockout might be one day long or months long so you can't assume lockout=lost season.

haha.....That might be nice for you but how about the millions that are being jeopardized by staying for another year?....

I understand that it would be nice for players to stay another year but I've yet to watch an NCAA Tournament that was not exciting all the way to the finish....

If UK kept all there talent every year that would be a very scary team.....lol!

As a Laker fan I am not happy about missing a half or full season since Kobe does not have too many Elite Years in his tank....I hope they figure this out....

hopefully it'll be like 98/99 season and just a lockout of like a couple months. an entire season is a waste for the owners, fans, players. at the end of the day, the owners lose millions of dollars by handing players MASSIVE contracts, some deserving, some not. season after season owners complain and yet every offseason, money gets thrown around (ben gordon & villanueva gets some bench seats for their 2 big contracts in the summer of 09 as joe dumars tried to spend 'wisely' and skip the chaos of 2010; joe johnson refuses a 4-yr 60 mil contract, and somehow is rewarded with a contract that runs 2 years longer, until he's 35, and is worth TWICE as much, etc. etc. etc.)
