Is this a fake card?

Hi guys. I just received a lot of VC cards from eBay. One of them looks weird to me. It's the one on the left, which I put the red circle on it. I've heard about fake cards before. They looked neat and normally replaced by a sick patch, but this one got some damages at the edge of jersey like someone tried to open it. The material and color are also weird too. The jersey is not smooth like it is not glued well. What do you think?

it does look odd -- is the material loose in the card?

It's not loose, but it a bit wavy like it's not glued well at some part underneath. I've never seen UNC jersey in this color either. The color is like in the picture, but a bit more shiney.

i would guess fake -- but i don't know why someone would fake a 1 color patch

It definitely looks like it has been messed with. It could have been one of the cards from the fleer closeout. Some of those didn't have the jersey swatches in them.

I think you are right. I remember when I went to Fleer's office to view the stuff a few days before the auction, all of the cards that they kept for their own records didn't have any swatches in them or autographes if they were supposed to be signed or serial numbered.

It would take more effort to try and put a patch in than it would be worth so it was probably done a few years ago.

I always wondered what happened to all of the signatures that were never put on the cards that got sold. I remember seeing sheets of Ripken autographs there.

definitely looks like it was tampered with based on all of the damage around the jersey hole.

I second all the people that the card was definitely tampered with. If you were faking a jersey patch why would you do such a bad job? I mean seriosly?

Thanks for all comments, guys. I was wondering like bziddy said. They will more likely to put a sick patch instead. By the way, I think it's gotta be like ceczerwonka and ifish73 said. I just have never known before if they have these kind of cards.
