Default Young Potential Stars?

I think there were a thread made before but i couldnt find it again so just want some thoughts from fellow collectors

Now that most of the griffin stuff is skyrocketing, i limited myself to picking up only a couple pieces. I been looking at other potential players, let me know what you guys think?

DJ Augustin
Deandre Jordan
Eric Gordon
Lamarcus Aldridge
Nick young

what you guys think about james harden?

Go for Gordon ...

James Harden is a semi-bust and a good bench player at best.

NIck Young is, I don't know, too unpredictable.

Augustin is servicable, nohing more.

Aldridge is as good as he is going to be right now.

Deandre Jordan is raw and explosive but I don't see him as an all star anytime soon.

Gordon is right there with the big boys, all he needs is a coming out party.

I think James Harden is going to be a very good player. If people don't think he is good and have some extra cards shoot me a message and let me know what you have.

I know I am a UK guy but I think that Bledsoe will actually be pretty good. Aside from that, if Hansborough can stay healthy he has proved that he can be VERY good.

LOL @ Augustin being a future All-Star. He is good, but I don't see him ever being an All-Star over the likes of Rondo, Wall, and Rose.

Eric Gordon is the best choice in my opinion. I believe his cards will explode next season. They have already gone up a little bit this season, but next year is when I really expect them to take off.

I got quite a few westbrook/gordon/rose already - i think these guys are pretty much no brainer but most of the prices have already gone up

I think to have a really good year both gordon and griffin needs each other. With gordon out, the clippers have dropped quite a few games

I just started picking up thorton/augustin/jordan

You're exactly right about the Clippers without Gordon. They're 2-5 since his injury. 2-7 overall without him. Now I know alot of you will point out that their record is not that good overall, but everyone that watches the Clippers know that they have been playing very well since mid-December. They're 12-5 since December 17th with Gordon in the lineup.

This is what I think:

DJ Augustin - Is a Good Player but I doubt he will ever be an All Star
Deandre Jordan - Raw but has the potential to be a Double-Double type player
Eric Gordon - Has Super Star Potential....and is still very young!
Lamarcus Aldridge - He is a stud....If he can carry his team to the Playoffs this year his stock will rise.
Nick young - Finally living up to his potential....Is having a career year and can still get better.

As usual, I agree with what Pico4 says.

I think Austin Daye is going to be very good in a few years. The guy is 6'11 and shoots a very good 3pt percentage, he also has alot of skill on the defensive end. I know the Pistons are very excited to have him and he seems to be getting more and more minutes each game and I think he's even started a few games. Just somebody in the East I'm keeping an eye on.

None of those guys have star potential nor do they have hobby love. Sure they could get good stats, but look at Monta, Granger, Gay, and Zack Randolph, these guys put up awesome stats, but are not franchise players and certainly not stars, and that's what you need to make the big bucks.

Look at Rubio, dude has many hobby fans and his cards are selling high, and he hasn't even played in the NBA. He is the definition of young potential star.

The above does not apply to Eric Gordon. Sorry.

What Ultimate Says...

Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin will rock La La Land next year. They are 1 or 2 pieces way from contention and when this happen, both will make the All-Star team.

Gordon is 22, played for the National Team and as only improved since entering the league. HUGE potential here... maybe the next T-Mac right there. (Remember, T-Mac was a stud before his body collapsed)

You're right...EJ gets plenty of hobby love, and will continue as he and Griffin gel together! The Clips don't get a whole lot of National attention, but Griffin will help with that....and then collectors and fans will notice the importance of EJ....
His Exquisite cards were already taking off just before he was hurt from 100.00 to 300.00

Maybe not Gordon, but Blake Griffin's shadow is too big for him to overcome for now. If LAC don't turn around a winning season in the next two years, his stock wil never rise higher than it is now.

Let's not get carried away with him being the next TMac. Prime TMac was on Jordan and Kobe's level. Gordon would never reach their level, and I can say never confidently.
