Post How much does grading a card raise its value?

TITLE PRETTY MUCH SAYS IT ALL
was looking at the becket thing and for 20 days it cost about 11 dollars per card
is it really worth grading cards? how much does the value raise if u get a 9 or 9.5

Not sure in basketball, because I dont collect it, but a 9.5 graded card can bring quite a premium over a non graded raw card for baseball.

Depends on the card, makes no sense grading lower end cards.

For higher end cards, it can mean the difference of a few hundred or even a few thousand

Example, a 9.5 exquisite is very hard to get, so the price might double and triple vs a raw of the same card

Well first you got to factor in, for a $30-40 card to be graded it costs $11 plus shipping and insurance.

Then if the card gets anything lower than a 9.5 it would have been a waste, even if it were to get a 9.5 it wouldnt really make the card that much more valuable. Unless it comes back a 10, I would say skip grading the lower end.

also make sure to check the population report of the card. if the card hasnt made it to 9.0 or 9.5 yet it can become more valuable than something thats got 8-9 graded at 9.5 already
