Default Need Help! Kobe RC

just came back from my lcs and there was a kobe EX-2000 RC graded 8 by beckett just the base rookie not the credentials rookie. I was just wondering if it was worth the $45 they were asking for it. still new to this hobby. any input would be nice

These should help (basically check final ending auction prices on ebay). Keep in mind that retail prices and ebay are different, but this should give you a decent idea of what it should sell for (or give you bartering info if your really wanting it). The 8 will hurt the card IMHO. A nice would be ok, but an 8 your better off breaking it out of the case and reselling it that way IMHO.

Specificially there was a BGS 7 that ended for 12 bucks
1996-97 Ex-2000 Kobe Bryant Rookie!!! Gaded BGS - eBay (item 250341729111 end time Dec-16-08 16:35:50 PST)

So I'm thinking he is high, but thats not to say he wouldn't meet you in the middle around 30 ish? As there was a PSA 9 that sold for 50 del.

This used to be a $200 card, what gives?

A difficult card to find in a high grade. When was the card graded by Beckett? If it was in the last couple of years an 8 might be a 7 several years ago when Beckett graded cards much tougher.

I've had several of these cards but didn't get them graded because they are very difficult to find in a mint grade (or they were).

They're all gone along with the business.

The best way to detirmine the date of the grading thus the severity of the grading is to look at where the grades are on the slab. If the grades are on the back of the slab then the card was graded several years ago when grading by Beckett was much tougher. If the grades are on the front of the card then it was graded more recently and the grader may not have been so tough.
