I haven't seen that Oscar Robertson card before, which seems crazy because I know that set very well. Is it short printed? It's a great looking card.

That Oscar GOTG is a beauty! Never seen it before... must be super rare because i've seen MANY Robertson autos throught the years.

Thanks for sharing the rest of them too, great looking cards!

Hope to see more from your collection soon.

Great James Worthy collection! One of my favorite collections in our hobby, thanks for sharing.

Will, very nice Sam Jones... I like it a lot!

Guys, check out this web page, I think you'll find it a bit interesting... talks about rarity of autographs, but i'm sure he's not talking about certified cards, but more the autograph itself, otherwise Dave Bing would be up there in the list as rare.

A lot of great stuff on this site, you might wanna check it out

Basketball Hall of Fame Autographs -- George Mikan, Bob Cousy, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry Lucas, Rick Barry, Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Russell, Frazier, Havlicek

Yeah, he's just talking about autographs in general, not specifically on card autographs. Non-NBA Hall of Famers like Bobby McDermott don't have any certified autos (not even cut autographs). In fact, McDermott only has 3 basketball cards in total. I'd love to see a non-NBA basketball card product, e.g. "Panini Pioneers" featuring only players from the late 19th and early 20th century. I'd buy a case of that!

I've wanted a Phillip auto for a while now, but wouldn't pay that kind of money for one.

I guess it's all about who sees it on a certain day... i wouldn't pay that high either. It's numbered to 25!

Hi Enrico!

Collecting HOF autographs is very fun, and even NBA 50 Greatest, that's a great one as well. Do you collect HOF autos or plan to? Always nice to meet fellow collectors. Yes, i'm Italian, how about you?

Best,

Giovanni

I got this in the post today. Tom Gola is one of the greatest college players of all-time. He averaged 20.9ppg and 19.0rpg for La Salle (where he won an NCAA championship and college player of the year award) and is regarded as one of the best all-rounders of his generation. He went on to be a 5-time NBA All-Star and an NBA champion with the Philadelphia Warriors (alongside Paul Arizin and Neil Johnston).

I paid $20 for the Tom Gola auto but the card can be had for about $5 on eBay. Personally I think it's worth way more than that. What a great looking card! Many of the Action Packed cards are ugly, but this one is really nice looking in my opinion.

I was so impressed with it that I snapped up a Bob Pettit auto from the same set for just $7.25 plus packaging on eBay.

Meanwhile, I also got this Tom Sanders auto in the post today.

And I finally took a photo of my recently acquired Hal Greer Chronology auto.

I may as well also post my Pete Maravich, Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West autographs in this thread today. I received them a couple of days ago.

Back of the Maravich...

Some great pick-ups Will!

Although not a patch on yours...I might as well showcase a few of mine that are dominated by two 2007-08 releases:

Those are some amazing cards! Thanks for sharing.

The 2007-08 Ultimate autographs are really clean and well designed. I actually received the Adrian Dantley in the post today (but forgot to mention it in my last post), i.e. the same card that you just posted. I'm looking for a David Robinson autograph at the moment and the Ultimate auto is one that's on my short list.

Those Exquisite Finalists dual autos take the biscuit (I try to use as many English phrases as possible, just to confuse our American friends ) though. Especially the Hakeem/Robinson and Kareem/Havlicek. You should go for the whole set.

By the way, keep writing your blog. I really enjoy reading it. Those E-XL cards look stunning together. I've got the base set and it's probably my favourite set from the 1990s.

Thanks Will! I need five more 07-08 Exquisite Finalists cards to complete the set and will get there eventually - they are hard to find these days. I am though missing the Michael Jordan / Dennis Rodman version, which is going to kill my wallet if I come across one!

Glad you like the blog...I am getting into the swing of it now. I have a few things planned. I'll add some box breaks & a few product reviews & then plan to go on a little promotion in the next few weeks, with a competition or two to attract some more followers. I then want to feature a some posts on other collectors collections!

There are loads of baseball blogs, but very few basketball blogs, so might find myself a little niche interest!
