John Stockton mini PC complete!!!

1988-89 Fleer #115 John Stockton RC This was the missing link to complete my 3 card mini set. I picked this one up for a few reasons: First off, it's already in a protective BGS holder, which I love. Not crazy for their grading but I do like the holders. But a very important reason is becase this features the old label, which means it is graded very strict!!! Back in the day, if a sub grade said 9.5 it was a 9.5 GEM! This one just so happens to have a 9.5 for the centering, which for this set is as good as it gets I've seen Gem Mint copies of this card with worse centering... Finally, I hate it when they have the sub-grades on the front of the label, makes the display look ugly for my taste.




2007-08 Topps Letterman Authentic Jersey Tags #AJTJS John Stockton This is a 1/1 card. I love how Topps used a large portion of the Jersey Tag! Always wanted this card ever since the set came out and finally got lucky to have it in my PC. I got it some time back but I remember looking for it so long... It was in a John Stockton collector's collection, so I was lucky to get it

1992-93 Hoops #SU1 John Stockton AU#{(Certified autograph) In my opinion, this is his best autographed card. His first auto when he was an active player, love the picture used, and the odds of pulling one of these was very high back in the day... Just love it!

the Scan has the watermark of a respectable ebay seller. Not the faker from the Philippines. The card he got from that guy was a magic/bird dual

bettydaw1970 - You guys are right, I was so shocked myself... It was probably a case where he was selling everything? Not too sure, can't remember exactly, but I do remember he was selling a few other Stocktons, so not sure it he sold everything or just a few cards. Either way, i'm very happy to have a chance to add it to my pc.

XARZY - Thanks Lisardo. Yes, you're correct, the card I bought from the scammer was the Magic/Bird auto. Thanks but this is not my idea originally... I saw a couple of collectors that were doing this so I followed. I think it's a reat idea so you don't need to go crazy buying tons and tons of cards of the same player, this is what I was doing before. Then it started to get such a big mess and spending so much on cards, so I deceided I would make little mini sets of any one player I want to collect. The poster below you mentions inserts, and I was thinking if I should add 1 serial numbered insert to each mini set... Let's see what happens

JORDANForever - Thank you my friend. You know, I was actually thinking if I should make it a 4 card mini set and add a serial numbered insert. Not sure yet... Do you have some serial numbered 90's inserts of him? I just might do this, thanks!

I actually need your Pettit in your avatar to complete a mini set for him. Of course I gotta wait till they make a GU of him, unless they already did? haha

DrJ Converse - Thanks Justin. I sure do! I'm always working on these three card mini sets. That's all i'm doing these days... too much money spent in the past and cards all over the place!!!!!!!!! So now I just stick to 3 cards, but thinking if I should add a serial numbered insert or not.

No doubt, it's a beauty!!! I currently have the 2005-06 Great of the Game auto, so definitely looking to upgrade it at some point... Good luck with your mini pc. What type of mini are you doing? At one point I wanted to do a 15 mini lol... Yeah i've looked around and haven't seen any GU for him, but if Panini keeps doing what they've been, he should have one soon!

Yeah you'll be fine, just hang in there... If you finish too soon then you'll need something else to chase haha. Those UD blacks 50 always sell well, I still haven't gotten a Baylor. Yes, Panini has done some great work with older HOF players who didn't previously have any GU, so I take my hat off to them for that. I expect to see a lot more greatness from them as time goes by

Holy cow thats an awesome Stockton mini pc. That tag is insane and the Hoops is a great choice for an auto too. I wouldn't mind finding one of the Magic Johnson's, I love that old set! Didn't Pippen sign that set too?

Love the Hoops auto! Those old set designs are great. I wish the big companies would pull more card designs from their heritage to do some sets like this.

I agree! I wish Panini, or even UD or Topps, would come out with some cards that have the old plain simply beautiful look... I wouldn't even care if they used college uniforms. But Panini cards would be awesome!!! If anybody can bring back the old school simply look, I think it's Panini.
