Angry UD Black Jordan Induction Card

I pulled a Jordan Induction card out of another box of UD Black and called their customer service to see if I could get a replacement card given that it does not have an auto or piece of memorabilia on it. After sitting on hold for about 20 minutes, I was told by the CS rep that they couldn't do anything about it because it was a card that was intended to be in the product. After some arguing with him, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor just repeated what the first guy said. I told him I purchased a case from Blowout and numerous boxes from the LCS expecting at least an auto and/or memorabilia card in each pack. All he said is that they SHOULD have put something in the marketing materials about this card Am I just SOL or is there any other course of action that I can take? Any help would be appreciated.

I was told they would send you a Black card, but I purchased my case from my local shop, and the shop owner called in for me and took care of it.

Just looking at the 08/09 UD Black preview information on the UD website again and they state :

"A low numbered card in each pack"

and

"Every card will feature autographs or multi memorabilia pieces numbered to 99 or less!"

Neither of these statements are true regarding this card. Sorry, still a little ticked off...

Here is a link to the preview page:

Do what some other guys on here have done, and contact the Better Business Bureau.

Agreed. The online form is not that hard and you can probably whip it out in 15-20 min. or so (depending if you are a typist or not). Good luck.

I emailed Upper Deck about the card. The first thing they told me is that the card is still very valuable & collectible becuase it is to commemorate his induction. So, I responded to the e-mail with the threat of filing a complaint with the BBB. In the next e-mail to me they requested my name & address so that they could send me something to make up for it. I'm sure that it will be a hockey or football card. I'll let you know in a few years, if I have it by then.

The Better Business Bureau has absolutely no power in any situation. The only reason companies don't want to end up there is to avoid embarrassment. The person(s) to contact if you have a problem with a registered business is the state attorney general of the state that the business you have a complaint about is in. The state attorney general actually has the power to revoke business licenses and issue fines.

Upper Deck is in California

Also, Upper Deck's defense that the card was intended for release holds no relevance when their sell sheets on the product state that EVERY card would be either an Autograph and/or Patch card.

That's what I used against them in my e-mails with them, along with the price of the cards.
