There's no need to comment.... they already know.

I think the next time one comes up i'll sell my entire collection(hopefully I won't come up short) and invest in one. This way when it doubles in a month, i'll just buy my collection back, and some!

Oh yeah... Inkredible card.

The bit I don't understand though. Does that mean the bidder at $13,600 and the bidder at $12,777 were actually prepared to pay that??
Or does it usually mean that most of the bidders are dodgy?

No no no. But that doesn't matter! Because there are pleanty of high "legit" bids....

Although that person has 0 feedback, there's 4 bidders over 20K, and 5 over the 10K level, so.................

Come on let's see those stats!

Realistically a $3k-$4k card (even with the jordan hype), so dno't feel like u lost out on 10k just because of this silly transaction. Ebay needs to have a function where we can see if the buyer actually paid or not instead of just cancel transaction or become nonpaying bidder.

Exactly!

Good example... this card that "sold" for $2500!!! Or did it? eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

No, it didn't. It was relisted again by the same seller ---> 2003-04 UD Exquisite Foursomes Jersey Patch Kobe Bryant/Shaq/Malone/Payton 01/10 | eBay

What do you do when it doesn't sell for $2500? You put a $5000 price tag lol

Ok, maybe it was originally 5k then he got the $2500 offer...

So now the world thinks that the card SOLD for $2500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not everybody is on ebay 24/7. So if they only saw that card sell one time and don't search for it again now to see the 5k listing, they'll think it's a $2500 card. So here you have the poor sucker saving up his hard earned cash and then coming back to ebay months later to be lucky enough to find that card listed. Ohhhh what was that serial number again? Can't remember..... but lucky for me there's one on ebay now!!! How much did the last one sell for? Oh yeah I remember, $2500!!!!!!!!! Let me see if he'll accept $2350! I just might get lucky.......... hahahahaha

$200 card

Texas-Legends lost out by $100! I feel his pain as I have lost out to him a couple times (and beaten him a couple times)..

There is just too much competition for these cards nowadays which is why we are seeing these insane prices. A lot of high rollers have apparently decided to stock up on MJ Exquisites and the prices just going crazy.

I had a chance to buy the same card with an almost identical patch for $3k about 1.5 years ago...I balked because it was twice the going rate ff the 06-07's...ughh, what bad reasoning!!!!

In case anyone doesn't know the difference, the 06-07's (there are a few really nice ones on ebay now) are #D /50 and the one that sold for almost $14k is the 09-10 is #D /10.

so i understand the card "sold" to a person with 0 feedback, but most exquisite jordan auctions are gonna have alot of experienced people bidding on them, so why in the world would it get bid up to 6k the first day of a 10 day auction?????? stuff like this doesnt make sense, i dont have the means to be able to drop that kind of money on a card so i dont know if there is a good reason to get that card up that high the first day of a 10 day auction.

Hmm, so you have 0 FB bid and a retraction bid of 14.5K

Then you have two possible 'legit?!' bids before that.

You have a $6,000 last legit bid (maybe?!) and then have a few friends throw in some bids, you have a random schmo make a 0 fb account then bid 14.5k just to see the high bid of the auction.

And lastly you know one of your buds is winning the auction illegitimately trying to shill it up for you, so you have a 0FB account outbid them, HOPING that someone will snipe it. If they don't, you still have an astronomical sale price that hopefully others will use to gauge!

Brilliant!

Of course the zero feedback guy who won it looks suspect (although, calling it a shill bid is still 100% speculation), but there are 11 legit bids OVER $7k going up to almost $14k...this is an expensive card, so it makes sense. I am not surprised by the ending price at all and given where the 09-10 Exq MJ Noble Nameplates sold, this ending price is actually pretty complementary.

I know what you're saying, however, you call those 11 bids over 7k all legit?

That is 100% speculation. There is no saying those winners would pay, or weren't asked to bid on the auction to bump the price up and if they win they wouldn't pay or the card would transfer hands but $$$ would not.

Just because they don't have 0FB or any retractions/etc, does NOT automatically mean they are legit, willing-to-pay, bids!

$14,000 for a Jordan 09-10 Exquisite card #/50?

Where/who are these buyers that are willing to pay $7-14k for this card? I'd like to know (other then texas-legends) who is REALLY willing to drop 14 THOUSAND dollars on a card from a few years ago, 50 made, from a retro product?

Again, I'm not saying it isn't possible, but everything is so suspect these days. I only say that because we've seen PROVEN manipulation and shilling going on with Jordan inserts & exquisites.

To me when I see a high end sale like this that's a new *RECORD* high, it's almost sad for the hobby. It's not like the hobby as a whole is getting BETTER and more valuable.

You have the low end and the high end.

I totally understand the whole popularity to the older jordan cards, and exquisite. But eBay is such a corrupted marketplace these days.

I feel as though you, as a high-end Jordan collector, and all of your buddies over at HK should all be angry at what's going on.

I know you are ecstatic that your collection 'value' is rising, but when you see/hear the manipulation going on and you have one of your buds bidding on the card, you're really OK with that?

Of course nobody is going to be upset when this constant rise to the moon of exquisites and jordan inserts is going on. Pretty soon this Jordan in subject will be hitting 25k!

New car? NOPE! I want a Jordan Auto Patch Card #/50 from 2009!

Paul - The card in the original post that sold for $13,700 is not #d /50...the 06-07 Limited Logo is #D /50. All those other Limited Logos that look the same on ebay are not the same card...those are all the 06-07's #d /50.

The Limited Logo that sold for $13,700 is the SSP'd version, the 09-10 Limited Logo #d /10.

I happen to know a few of those bidders, actually over $10k (including the 2nd highest bidder at $13,600...Texas-Legends) and can say they are legit.

I can see the /50 being a 4k card but this is the /10. there was a legit buyer upto 9k. Someone set up the snipe just to F- the seller because Any seller getting 9-10k for one of these should be more than happy.
