Default I have no clue...

...about sports cards these days as I collect mostly non-sports, but I have a question that I was hoping someone could answer for me.

I've never been much of an NBA fan. I love the college game to death and I did follow the Pistons a little when they had Ben Wallace...but now with a local Pittsburgh prospect and Pitt player looking to gain lottery draft status, I was wondering...

When can I expect to start seeing some Dejuan Blair cards hit the market?? I'd love to start up a Blair collection...or even Sam Young for that matter...

Any info would be helpful...

Thanks in advance guys...

I'm with you on the Blair and Young cards. UD Draft was going to be the first 09/10 product, but it got canceled. I'm not sure when Panini is going to drop their first product, but I would have to think it would be soon. UD SPGU is set to have both of them, but who knows if UD is going to produce it.

Right now we are still under the terms of the 2008-09 licensing agreement, where Upper Deck and Topps can produce products exclusively. So Upper Deck and Topps will both be putting out releases up until sometime this summer. I think only after that date can Panini even start releasing their products. Not sure when that exact date is.

So how will these guys' unfathomable plummet in the draft effect the amount of product that will be produced of them...if at all??

If it effects it at all, it will be very little, IMO.

Even though teams passed on them like idiots, including my Bulls who I wanted to grab Young, I think the companies know they have great potential and they are fairly big names too, even though they went second round.

I'm probably wrong though as I don't know anything about this stuff either, ha

This is the reverse case of supply vs. demand. If certain players start to do remarkable things on a "bad" team there will be a growing demand which will have the hobby scrambling to hurry up and be the first person to have a RC of that player produced. So while you might not see a RC right off the bat? You might see some later on in some of the even better products. Just have to wait and see...
