I recently won this auction..
Kobe Bryant #045/200 1998-99 Topps Stadium Club First Day Issue #170 98-99 RARE | eBay Its for a 98 Stadium Club Kobe Bryan First day issue 45/200. I took a look at the scan and it look proper. I thought maybe the scan didnt pick up the foil numbering. Anyways, I got in the mail yesterday and the foil numbering is very faint and hard to see. There is no foil but just a stamping of the numbering. Legit looking stamp (The rectangle box around the numbering). Anyone else seen the foil part missing? Just want to make sure its legit. I mean it does say First day issue on the front. I think I got it for a steal of a price as well. |

I've got a couple of no names that are the same way...had to look more than once to notice the numbering.

It might be an issue with the two different series. I think there was series 1 and 2 for this year. I have seen many non foil, and just as many with foil.
I think the scan gives an indecisive feeling on whether or not there is gold foil, so it appears almost damaged and therefore caused the low price. Great pickup! Grading it? |

I'm a little late to the party, but on my Stackhouse version the foil is there and so is the faint outline of a box. I think the earlier poster who said it could be a difference between Series 1 and Series 2 issues might be on to something. I also know that Topps Gold Label did the same thing (without the gold foil) on many of their parallels too.
