Default Rubio backdating

Alright, I just posted a thread about contacting Tracy Hackler, so I figure I might as well explain what my idea is and see if you guys think this is a stupid idea or a good one.

I think that Panini should issue 09-10 Ricky Rubio RCs for their 09-10 sets so that you actually can get a complete set of the draft picks from that year. For instance, I have the complete set of Court Kings from 09-10 1-150 with 121-150 being Rookie Autos /649. What pisses me off is I am a T-Wolves fan, and since Rubio didn't come over, Panini obviously didn't make any rookie cards for him. What I would like Panini to do, or I at least think this would be pretty sweet, is if Panini would make his RCs for all of the sets they made that year with rookies in them. They could insert these randomly in 12-13 sets or find some other way of doing it. Thoughts?

yeah that would make sense if NO 2009-10 product didn't include Rubio, but Topps and Upper Deck made TRUE Rubio Rookie Cards...

Yeah, they did, but what is frustrating about those is that Rubio is in a Spanish jersey in UD and has a blank jersey in Topps (He was in NT too actually in a suit). Panini would have the opportunity to add him in to 09-10 sets, while it wouldn't be a true rookie card, they could at least do it right and have him in a Timberwolves jersey now even if it is just one of him posing. I don't know how many people collect Panini basketball sets, it appears everyone is more geared toward purchasing and ripping packs for singles, but for set collectors and even for Rubio collectors it would be cool to see him in the 09-10 product designs.

What's the deal with Rubio and Panini? I was looking forward to him possibly having a Silhouette Patch/Auto but he was not in the set.

Does this mean he's going to have PMGs when Upper Deck Retro finally comes out?
