So it seems you can't have an opinion on here before the 'lovers' come out to attack you...

He has always been a class act, but he is selling out by going to the Heat. Not that hard to understand...

I hate the Celtics, but I think Allen is selling out. Got anything else totally wrong to say?? I think you're the "a-hole" for a response like that.

OK, that's a better argument.

You do REALIZE that the Laker's are Boston's biggest rival, RIGHT??? Any rivalry that Boston has with Miami is short lived compared to the last THIRTY years...

ray allen isn't a sell out, if that was the case he sold out to go to the celtics, which I don't agree with.... he's just moving around like anyone else.

and pat riley isn't a genius...... he's showering players outside of the contracts with gifts, like lebrons 50 million dollar mansion he gave him........... he's sideline hustling

Please don't ever have children. Thanks.

Boston fans will give him a great ovation when he returns.
He's not Clemens who said he was leaving to go closer to home and then went to Toronto.
He's not Damon who said he would never go to the Yankees and did.
He's not James who strung along a city even thoughhe knew where he was going.

He will get a great ovation and then he will hear the boos when he hits his 1st 3 as he should as he does not play for the Celts.

It's funny watching the Celtics rump swabs vs the Heat rump swabs in this thread. Troll on troll bashing

Need to thank Avery Bradley for outplaying him last year.

Heat gave Ray Allen reason to again feel wanted - Yahoo! Sports

Unlikely he gets a warm reception next year.

Anyone that thinks ray Allen is a sellout is ridiculous and can't be taken seriously.

Was Allen a sellout when going to celtics? Is Nash? Is Kidd? What about terry? Was shaq?

Oh wait it's cause it has to deal with the heat. Oh I forgot that makes it okay to bash they guy.

Sarcasm.

Why is this such a surprise to everyone....he is hurt, could barely walk last season, now coming off of surgery, and the Celtics will have Avery Bradley and Jason Terry most likely now. Does Ray really want to fight for Minutes, and possibly be a 3rd stringer behind those two guys?
Loved Ray Ray, but not too heart broken he's gone......I mean he wasn't even hitting free throws last year. I honestly don't think he will make it through the season.

Poor Ray just needed a hug.

"When it comes to basketball, Rondo is the smartest player on the team – one of the smartest players in the league," one locker-room source said. "And Ray considers himself a smart guy. But at some point, it became hard for Ray to be corrected by a guy so much younger than him."

This Wojn article makes Ray look pretty terrible.

I dont think its selling out, but maybe taking the easy way out? I knew he was leaving I just didnt want him to leave to arguably the Celtics biggest rival now.

Blame the 'great' rondo. For someone many people say is such a smart player he sure makes some dumb decisions. I don't think I buy rondo as one of the smartest in the league.

Goodbye to a couple easy assists a game rondo.

I think the article makes the celtics management seem like losers for basically pushing Allen out.

Don't blame Allen blame the celtics. Oh and of course blame baby rondo. Haha (semi joke)

so if miami lost to the knicks in the playoff then lebron decided to take a paycut to play for the knicks the following season, you wouldnt call him a sellout/feel betrayed?

why not? allen was part of the big 3, he won a championship with the celtics and had offers from the celtics to stay.

Do you not think before you say things? Allen is the weakest of the Celtics big 3 while Lebron is the mvp of the league and makes up 60% of the miami big 3. Your example would be more accurate if you said Bosh not lebron...and if that happened, we would say thanks for everything bosh and wish him good luck in NY.

Not sure about that. The Celtics average 8 more pts per 100 Possessions with Bradley starting over Allen.

This is how I see the Celtics wanting Ray Allen back. KG and Pierce probably has genuine intentions of wanting him back for another run but Ainge and Doc have already moved on from Ray and just want him back to lock him up under contract. But only to lure him away from Miami and eventually Ainge would still trade him away.

Sam Amico

Ray Allen, who left Celtics for Heat, reportedly had major problems w/PG Rajon Rondo. "Jealousy issue," opposing GM said. "Ray's that way."

GM added Allen "wanted to go Hollywood" but that role "got to be played by Kobe. Ray never liked him. Kobe was winning, getting endorsements, playing in LA. Kobe didn't do anything wrong, Ray just wanted that type of fame." And now, "Allen doesn't like the fact he's fading and Rondo is rising."

except ray had a no-trade clause in the contract the c's offered him (I believe)

and I don't know why people are making such a big deal about it, sure the heat knocked em out of the playoffs the last 2 years with allen on the team.

But what can ya do, he is a professional athlete and at this point is playing more or less for a ring and miami gives him that best option. Especially if teams let him stand and shoot like miller/battier/jones/chalmers

I would have had the same reaction had he gone to clippers/thunder etc. Since I would have liked to see him come back to the C's, who imo would have improved over the last year if he signed (assuming everyone is healthy)

And I still think they have improved over last year already if they can get green back and he is in a solid game shape

I totally understand where Ray is coming from with being traded, he was almost trade TWICE! I can not imagine that is what you want to go through as a future Hall of Famer on a very good team.

The whole Rondo nonsense, who knows the truth and if thats why he wants to leave then so be it, but revenge? Sticking it to the Celtics? I hope thats not the truth, that sounds really petty, like Roger Clemens/Wade Boggs type noise
