Back in 1994 I got my first ever pack of cards. I became really interested in the game and hobby and was a bit of a nut at school, buying up lots of 1994 USA packs from the vending machine, getting in trouble for having cards at school etc etc.
I collected Mitch Richmond and built up a decent collection of him, before falling out of the game around 1998-99. I went overseas and dabbled in NFL cards, then came back into basketball in around 2007-08, spent shedloads of money on cards and achieved pretty much everything I intended to. I wanted a Jordan auto, I've had about 10 come and go. I wanted a Wilt auto, got one of those............. had pretty much every card I ever really wanted and that was awesome, then I started getting into game used stuff. I bought a couple of really awesome pieces and then found the Meigray auctions... spent a LOT there and then decided that with the card hobby being so full of scammers and pathetic people, as well as sub-standard product and abysmal customer service (both by Panini and ebay), that I just didn't have the passion for it anymore. I had a holy grail that I'd liked to have obtained before quitting, and now, I'm thrilled to say that my collection is complete. I'd like to thank everybody who has bought anything off me recently, especially Bob who took the Jordan auto I've been wanting to move for a while. Before we start, I'd like to suggest that you watch this - (pay close attention to #2.......) Top 10 Plays 2012 NBA Finals Miami Heat vs Oklahoma City Thunder - YouTube While it's sad that the Thunder didn't win, there's nothing sad about what I'm about to show you.... Worn in the NBA Finals game 3 (in which the #2 play happened) ![]() #2 on the court, #1 in your hearts... ![]() ![]() And it is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Plus it goes really well with my season debut jersey... ![]() So that's the first part down. Some of you might think it gets better from here... ...as you should.... In 1987-88 this player won his first MVP award. He was known to practice as hard as he played. That's probably why this jersey has a fair bit of wear on it... ![]() It's reversible ![]() Has cool little logomans ![]() ![]() Was made by Sand-Knit ![]() And was worn by the greatest player in NBA history. Accompanied by a signed letter from the friend he gave this to, as well as Mears COA, this practice jersey was worn by Michael Jordan in the season he lead the league in both scoring (35ppg) and steals (3.16spg). It is so awesome adding a Michael Jordan piece to my collection! So I added another.... Worn in his return to the NBA in 1994-95, not as treasured as his #23, but much more rare, I present to you... "He's Back" ![]() ![]() I've owned a Jordan tag before... ![]() Here's my first logoman ![]() ![]() Originally obtained by Grey Flannel, then sold through Mears, I now own a Michael Jordan game worn jersey!! So that's me. I can't top this, I'm not going to try to. I'm just going to start saving money and living my life, though I do need to start investigating framing options... ![]() I'll still hang around the forums, but you will not see another mailday from me again. It's been a pleasure

It's tough to top that
![]() A game worn Michael Jordan jersey... yeah, it's definitely going to be tough to top that. I became interested in the NBA in the early 1990s but it was talk of Jordan's comeback that really made me obsessed with the sport. In England at the time, basketball was only shown on satellite TV (which my family didn't have). Therefore, I used to get my friend to record the games for me on VHS. I remember one of the best ones was Jordan's game against the Knicks when he finished with like 55 points while wearing the number 45 jersey. It was crazy - he'd only been back for a few games but he was as good as always. The game cemented my status as a Bulls addict and I've stuck with them ever since, even through the Fred Hoiberg years. So seeing your game worn Jordan #45 jersey brings back some great memories. I'm travelling to Chicago this summer and can't wait to have my photo taken next to Jordan's statue outside the United Center. Anyway, I hope you continue to collect basketball items, even if you don't try to top these recent purchases. Who knows, maybe one day you'll sell all of your items except the Jordan jersey and use the funds to purchase a game-worn Magic Johnson jersey or something similar?

Great story Will. When are you planning on visiting Chicago? Have you ever been inside United Center?

I'm travelling to the USA with my girlfriend in August. We're hiring a car and driving from Chicago to Los Angeles along Route 66, making side trips to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We'll be staying in places including Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Santa Fe as well as much smaller destinations such as Tucamuncari and, ultimately, Laguna Beach in Orange County, California. Can't wait!
